If they were to do a weekender, they'd actually have to talk about upcoming releases, and they forgot how to do that the past year or two.

DC, that’s not fair. Twice a year they get together and tell us about some books that are coming. They give us the names and titles, even the covers sometimes. Are we really so greedy as to demand dates too? What next? They start sending out previews to book reviewers and promote their books online like they’re some sort of ‘book publisher’? Disgusting.

The sad thing is that they used to do that. They actually built decent enough relationships with indie reviewers. Then they stopped pretty much without comment, and even authors couldn't consistently expect to receive a stack of author copies anymore.

They actually *do* stuff via Netgalley, but even there, they went from putting up Horror and I guess Crime books up alongside new one-offs to... well, bolter porn or backlog material you could already get in Humble Bundles for a buck. Right now, their most recent additions were the Ciaphas Cain omnibus 1, Indomitus, Uriel Ventris omnibus 1 and... Fabius Bile: Primogenitor and Manflayer. No sign of the middle book, of course.

So even what review copies they put out are rarely going to catch interest because they're old material reviewed aplenty (heck, even I reviewed the Ciaphas Cain omnibus, and that was like 8 years ago or thereabouts) and the more relevant stuff doesn't go on there. You'd think they'd put newer authors out for reviews, at the very least, but nope.
