Trokair
I know the model does not come with a base, and in any case I am using a Carnodon as the basis for my Predator for my Thousand Sons. But for both transport, and to fit in better with the army I was thinking of putting it on a base. What size would people suggest/have used? Also any pictures would be great to judge to effect. battle captain corpus 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371363-predatorrhino-base-sieze/ Share on other sites
Jings
I've done it. Knight-sized base fits perfectly. I used two layers of cork to make a road, with indents on the top layer to let the Rhino tracks sit comfortably. I shaved off a bit of the tracks, and using the indents attached a couple decent sized magnets so I can remove it from the base. Don't have a picture right now of the base with the Rhino removed, but these should give you an idea. https://i.imgur.com/MJG6Zpr.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/kpn1Uzc.jpeg Edited August 20, 2021 by Jings Trokair, Commisar Necros and Venerable Jazzman 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371363-predatorrhino-base-sieze/#findComment-5732812 Share on other sites
Trokair
Thanks, Knight bases are big. Do you think the slightly smaller 120x92mm oval (flyer) base would work? Halandaar
Like Jings I went for the Knight-sized oval for my Sororitas vehicles and found it pretty much perfect; the flyer size oval felt too small, with bits of the tank hanging over the edges. MegaVolt87
Use a large rectangular base, non- hover tanks without flight stands look odd on round/ oval bases. TrawlingCleaner
I use the 120x92mm for my vehicles, although they are smaller than modern sculpts. The modern Rhino should fit on the base with a small amount of overhang battle captain corpus, Venerable Jazzman and Trokair 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371363-predatorrhino-base-sieze/#findComment-5736810 Share on other sites
Halandaar
For direct comparison, here's my Castigator on the Knight-sized 170x105 oval And the same model on an upturned flyer-sized (120x92) oval (I didn't have one without a flight-stand stuck to it) Trokair 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371363-predatorrhino-base-sieze/#findComment-5736832 Share on other sites

battle captain corpus
I agree that the 120x90mm (Dreadknight?) base size is the best I think. INKS
Sorry I don't have much to add. I just wanted to say that I like seeing Rhinos and such on bases. I don't see it enough. I like it. Trokair
So I ended up going with the larger 170mm oval. This is how it looks: AenarIT 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371363-predatorrhino-base-sieze/#findComment-5740605 Share on other sites
