I've mostly been watching WH+ for Angels of Death. That's the only thing I was really looking forward to.

I also watched Hammer and Bolter, which was OK, but I expected more of it more often (yes, this is on me with my expectations being far too high, before anyone comments).

Loremasters... I like Wade, but to me this was pointless. Most WH+ content seems to be for people who are already into the hobby, and this seemed too basic.

The battle reports were much better than I expected. I like the short format and the players seem to be having a good time. I had kind of expected this to be painful to watch, I have to admit.

I haven't watched the painting videos. When it comes to painting I'm much more in the "how can I make this look not rubbish and not take a week doing it" camp.

With no more Angels of Death until November, for me it's going to feel like a pretty lean offering for a while in terms of video content.

In terms of the app, I still base how useful it is on whether it stops crashing on my tablet (it hasn't) and whether I can give my Watch Master a relic (I can't), so that doesn't add to the value for me.

Incidentally the AoS app does seem to work much better but I'm not sure I'm allowed to compare the two here without getting into trouble.

I went for the annual sub, but if I was paying monthly it would probably be the first thing I would cancel if I needed to save money.

I just got my voucher for £10 this lunch time.
A quick note in case anybody misses the small print in the excitement

"You have until midnight (GMT) on the 31st of October to spend it, so don't wait too long!"

A link was emailed to me, which when clicked sent me to MyWarhammer sign-in and it was automatically applied to my account, and automatically applied to my next order. They do expire October 31st though

Do you get those with monthly or just annual sub?

Applies to any sub that was upgraded from a 40k App Sub to a Warhammer+ sub in the first week after launch.

Not just upgrades, but anyone who subbed in the first 30 days.

Well, I must say that finding my voucher in the mail today made me pretty happy.

It worked out as a 12 euros discount, which I used to purchase some hobby material that I needed anyway.

The subscription costed me 11 for these two months, so it was basically free -I got 26 euros worth of paint at the price of 14 inc. shipping.

This is good. I don't expect them to do it too often, but I hope they keep this up.

I want to amend my original thoughts. At $5.99 its still pretty cheap, after the stunt they pulled with Angels of Death, and considering they haven't added any new animated shorts ... I have no idea why they released it with far too little content versus waiting that was not the case?

Yeah the free miniature after a year, and the coupon I just received in the mail is nice .... but they were less than honest talking it up prior to release. They even made statements that later turned out to be false regarding how often they would update content, etc.

As it stands now, they've pissed off a number of customers ... do it right, don't do it half-ass, and don't leave your customers feeling deceived.

I can't help but feel the decision to have a 'mid season break' on Angels of Death was made by someone who's viewing knowledge is based on TV rather than online streaming. Mid Season breaks are common on TV shows, as allows for actors to get a break filming all at once, or to garner 'interest' from viewers waiting for when it comes back!

Streaming, this isn't the case. It's either release a series at once, or the whole series gets a weekly release until it's done.

I'd hope that it's not the case they hadn't finished the series before release WH+, as that suggests WH+ was rushed to be launched (surely not!  )

Only GW knows for sure. :sad.:

Covid probably also caused a delay in making content

Redcomet is correct, it's reasonable to assume that covid did cause a delay in the production of the content. However, it's also reasonable to assume that GW knew that before launch. Ultimately it's the customer that needs to make the decision on if it's the price is worthwhile. It's your money, you earnt it (presumably) you're free to spend it however you wish.

But in my mind at least....

If you subscribe/keep your subscription you're communicating that either present of future releases are of enough value to you to keep paying the current subscription. Along with the offers  inc. mini/voucher etc.

If you refuse to sign up/cancel you are communicating that the value is not there, at least yet.

At the moment I'm sitting in the second "box". I'm actually a little shocked that some of the most optimistic of subscribers seem to have changed their valuation so quickly. Which doesn't bode well.

I'm going to hold onto my 5.99 per month. That said I think in 48 months, WH+ will either be dead or I'll be subscribed myself. Even if it's to binge watch the whole library only to cancel it and repeat later.

That's interesting. In the back of my mind I've always wondered that too, what's the chance it fails longterm and gets deleted lol?  IMO that would be a sign of serious incompetence on the part of GW ... which would prove the following, you make good models and decent to mediocre games. Stick to that because your expertise stops at the edge of that.

I've suspected this may be the case for sometime. I've already given the reasons in more detail so I won't repeat myself.

To be clear while I don't think WH+ is good value, that's not the same thing as wanting it to fail. I would however have preferred it the content was available on an existing platform instead (mostly animations)

Judging for the comments in this post the bonus mini seems to be a very large factor in many people's decision to sign up or not. I could definitely see that being repeated every year.

The service has said that this will be repeated every year - it is something definite, not something that’s a maybe:

Exclusive Models

Every year, get a miniature free, and the chance to buy another.

What’s included in a Warhammer+ subscription?

-A free, exclusive Citadel miniature every year, and the opportunity to buy a second, different exclusive miniature as well

It’s right there on https://warhammerplus.com/

At this point, it still doesn’t interest me. Maybe in a year or two.

Pretty disappointed right now, H&B Ep 4 Fangs won't play for me, it keeps prompting me to "Subscribe", even though I'm signed in. It is only this Episode, all of the others work :censored:

Not sure why it would matter, Grotsmasha, but Warhammer Community said this about Fangs:

”Viewers in Australia will unfortunately have to wait a few more days for this episode, but rest assured that it’s coming – and worth the wait.”

I’m assuming that’s what’s causing the problem - go figure.

... other than either they don't have ample amount of material created for it, or they realize its their main sub attraction and they want to milk that for every penny its worth right now in light of being extremely light on content?

These work with forge world too right?

I've never purchased anything from from FW before, but there are a lot of really sweet Necromunda models- some that were temporarily out of stock are back.

Tough call- could also throw it at GW Necromunda... So many choices!
