Death Korps of Krieg, 7th Battlegroup

Hey gang,

 

Like me and every other hobbyist, I snagged some of the gorgeous Death Korps Guardsmen from Kill Team Octarius. I've long been a fan, having had a few scattered bits for them lying around.

 

I tried out a tester first, which I'm fairly pleased with, just to get the scheme right, so I'm plowing on with the rest of the squad. I was going to go for an Armageddon-esque scheme but I adore the blue-grey commonly used so plumped for that. It's a little on the messy side, but I guess if anyone suits that, it's the Death Korps of Krieg! The base needs doing, but I've got some stuff to make muddy bases turning up tomorrow so can get onto it then.

 

After that, I have:

 

HQ Command Squad

Platoon Command Squad

5 plastic Deahth Korps squads

10 Death Riders

3 Leman Russ Battle Tanks.

Great start.

 

Krieg really benefit from a gritty colour scheme and yours is well executed.

The colours are great, he really looks nice :tu: The muddy base will complete the scheme so I'm looking forward to seeing the finished article - and more of course :)

Unfortunately, I havn't been able to do as much as I'd like to have since, between 2 holidays. my best mate's wedding and work. I'm still trying to get the basing right. However, I've made a start on painting the rest of the original chaps squad as well as the Marshall. I'm just building everything up atm before going too hardcore into painting, so I'm about halfway through the Infantry squads, and the 3 Leman Russ' plus the 2 Demolishers I've since acquired (inc. a FW Mars pattern one) are nearly done too.

 

The Death Riders are done, I also grabbed another to use as a Commander borrowing the binoculars from the Tank Commander. Look forward to painting these up, though I;m trying to get as much done as possible as I treated myself to the Black Templars Army box too.

Haha I dread to think what my other half would say if I had to reveal just how much the DRs were per one!!!

 

@Jud - I havnt a scooby soo tbh. Something to compliment the blue-gray. I was thinking maybe a fleshy sort of colour as I’m going for a dark brown muddy base.
