Cpt. Bannockburn
Trading, basically. They don't have ObSec, but you can put the cheap but reasonably durable squad on an objective and force an opponent to commit something to kill them from there. In turn you can then kill the (hopefully) more expensive unit. You can use them for secondaries like ROD as well from deep strike, and thus convert a low amount of points into a good amount of victory points. On top of that, they have the bodyguard ability, and, if you're so inclined, give a free slot for a DW apothecary (which is not really used all that often, since the RW apothecary is simply better for the same price), ancient, or champion. Vulshra
The bodyguard ability is a lot of it. If allows you to take a bunch of characters and worry very little about them getting killed, as you need to kill every nearby deathwing command squad before you can target the character Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371702-deathwing-command-squads/#findComment-5741911 Share on other sites
Brother Quinn
Yes, it's the bodyguard ability mostly. You can hide a two man squad behind ruins while a Talonmaster sits in the open blasting away.
