Schlitzaf
Working on the caveats rumors are true for model release: BT Unique Units Codex/Armageddon Era Helbrecht - Legended. Primaris Version. Emperor’s Champion - Legended. Primaris Version. Grimaldus - Likely Legended, I believe rumors said new kit for all characters. Primaris version. Cenobytes - Indicative as returning. Not clear if new unit or old one. (Primaris Helbrecht also has Cenos in his model now). Models atleast are returning Castallen Draco - No (White Dwarf). Several rumors indicate a new Castallen. And a BT unique sculpt of a Marshall is confirmed. Crusader Squad - Returning Sword Brothern - No/Vigilus Rules (NB Primaris Versions are coming) (C:BT) Neophyte Ancient - No (Several rumors indicate a BT Ancient. Presumably not a Neophyte) (C:BT) Biker Crusaders - No (C: Armageddon) Durandal Dreadnought - No. We sre getting a Vehicle Upgrade sprew per several rumors. (White Dwarf) Upgrade Kit - N/A. We will maybe still be retaining our current one. Some rumors indicate a new one. New/Returning Units/Sculpts: Primaris Characters - 1. BT Marshall (New (not Unique rules wise given loadout is shared a generic captain from the magezine)) 2. Helbrecht (New&Unique) 3. Emperor’s Champion (New&Unique) 4. Grimaldus (rumors)/New&Unique 5. Ancient (rumors)/Unknown 6. Castallen (Rumors)/Unknown Cenobytes - Return/Confirmed (Helbrecht. Not confirmed if unique rules new sculpts. Or being combined into character rules) Primaris SwordBros - Rumor/Presumably Unique Rules/Atleast new sculpts in CSquads Crusader Squad - Returning. Not confirmed if new sculpts or otherwise. Or just use Upgrade Kit Primaris Crusader Squad - New. New sculpts & Unique rules -Unique Weaponry (Flamer) atleast Vehicle Upgrade Kit - Rumored by few sources. Unique Loadout options for BT Units if true That means of BT Unique Units if rumors pan out: Durandal’s Neophyte Ancient Biker Crusader Castallen Draco Are only BT Uniquely Named Units not represented explicitly in our new rules. As Firstborn Sword Brothern are techenically represented in Vigilus. How everyone feel? So for quick tl;dr: Unique Rules: 3 Primaris Named Characters The 2 Crusader Squads The Primaris Sword Brothern Cenobyte Servitors That is 7 unique datasheets. 8 if we include SBro Specialist. And if any of the following is true and unique rules: Ancient Castallen Vehicle (Allows Stubbers > Melta(?) apparently) That is 9 or 10 unique loadouts/datasheet + basically unique loadout for most Primaris Vehicles. Do we feel unique now? Medjugorje 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371786-bt-unique-units-supplement-edition/ Share on other sites
TheNewman
I'll tell you one thing, everyone else is going to be annoyed if that teased Multimelta upgrade pans out, especially if it's legal for vehicles other that the Repulsors. It comes pretty close to making up for losing double-tap on the main gun. Slapping a pintle-mounted MM on an Impulsor is stupid-good. Marshal Reinhard
That is 9 or 10 unique loadouts/datasheet + basically unique loadout for most Primaris Vehicles. Do we feel unique now? It's a fantastic time to be a templar right now. A couple of years ago sisters went from the most neglected army (sans squats) to the most freshly updated and lavished with attention. A glorious 180 that lacks in any other clear counterpart. Sisters went from the top of the pile of "players who have legitimate reasons to moan", to the very bottom of said pile. Now Templars are, in much the same way, going from the most neglected chapter (that used to have its own book and models - this is an important caveat!) to the one with the most attention and care given. We're the only other chapter that will have 3 modernized characters in plastic, the only one with our own sculpted unique elites and basic troops, the only with good looking neophytes. The indomnitus box also looks like it was made with us in mind foremost (before some hotshot executive said, nah... lets make this for everyone... its my theory anyway) We've gone the from the top of the "can legitimately complain" pile, to the very bottom. And its absolutely fantastic. Now bring me Grimmy, GW! General Strike
A few other things, the templar boxset article said "special Characters, and six unique unit Datasheets." Implying we have six unique datasheets separate from our special characters. So that goes a long way in combining with rumors. 1. Crusader Squad Firstborn 2. Primaris Crusader Squad 3. Sword Brother Squad 4. ??? 5. ??? 6. ??? My guess is the Marshal, Castellan, and Ancient will have Black Templar specific rules, and might be the other three datasheets. Or maybe there is no Castellan, and the other datasheet is a Pyreblaster Squad. I seem to remember one of the main and trusted rumors mentioning a upgrade sprue, they specifically mentioned it having shotguns for neophytes, relic items, and helmets, I wonder if it will have sculpted shoulder pads or if they think what comes on the crusader squads and decal sheet will be enough. Marshal Wolfhart
Repulsor Crusader? I mean, we saw that pintle-mounted MM, just throw out the high impact shots and make it all DAKKA :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371786-bt-unique-units-supplement-edition/#findComment-5746237 Share on other sites
General Strike
I do hope I can put it on Gladiators. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371786-bt-unique-units-supplement-edition/#findComment-5746246 Share on other sites
TheNewman
I do hope I can put it on Gladiators. Even if it doesn't stay a BT exclusive I'm leary of the balance issues it would cause by being available for non-Repulsors. Put it on an Impulsor and it gets into Razorback territory of displacing your actual tanks. Put it on a Gladiator and you go from having three tanks with distinct roles so picking one requires putting some thought in and adjusting the rest of your list accordingly to having one clear all-rounder that will always beat out the other two. BLACK BLŒ FLY
It’s not a big deal in my opinion the sorry state of SM vehicles in general.
