"I'm not saying I've been everywhere and I've done everything. But I do know this is a pretty amazing planet we live on here. And a man would have to be some kind of fool to think we're all alone in this universe...."

Greetings and salutations on this dark and stormy night!  I'm starting a Crusade campaign with a few local friends, and I'd like to throw out some idea to you all and get some feedback.  The starting players in the campaign are myself (and I also have a very small Slaanesh Daemons force in the campaign), a Tyranid guy and a Chaos Marine guy.  Possibly a few games from an Eldar guy and maybe Necrons making an appearance later on.

My Sisters Crusade is going to be an offspring from the Argent Shroud, called the Errant Sisterhood of the Vermilion Dawn.  As such, they don't have a home on any particular shrine world, but travel on errantry across the region of space near the Great Rift.  Prior to the Noctis Aeterna, they were a newly formed branch of the Argent Shroud and had hardly set off on errantry when the Rift opened.  Their intention was to travel in somewhat regular communication with the Argent Shroud and take home in whatever shrines were available, and commandeer local planetary resources when none were.  Now, they travel in almost total silence, cut off from any communication with any larger Order, other than face to face when they are lucky enough to make planetfall somewhere friendly.  Because of this, the Errant Sisterhood is sorely lacking in vehicles, which are difficult to maintain and if damaged are difficult to extract from a battlefield.  The Errants are almost entirely an infantry force.

The important characters to start the Crusade are going to be (with images where they're painted and ready to go):

Excellent work on the models. Some are obviously Raging Heroes models; will this be reflected in the Order's backstory, e.g., it's a "Gemini," meaning the Ecclesiarchy combined two Orders that suffered extremely heavy casualties, to form one relatively whole Order? (This was something the Ancient Romans did, combining two devastated legions to form a relatively whole and new one.) Will there be friction between members of the different Orders composing this new one, or did the same type of enemy devastate them both, uniting all the new Order's Sisters in their determination to punish the enemy?

Oh that's a good idea.  It's possible that, being out near the Rift that communication with the larger Ecclesiarchy is so difficult that two Orders Minoris have to de facto combine just to survive, without the authority to combine orders de jure?

Or, that one order is a new, very small, but relatively intact order on errantry, and the other is a larger Order Minoris that had suffered extremely heavy casualties.  That seems like a fun story to play out; they could find other remnants of the Order, and it gives a ton of opportunities for battle ideas.  Also would help explain the difference in style of miniature.
