casb1965
Never thought about it before and I'm sure it's been discussed but when an Inquisitor uses his Authority of the Inquisition skill to take an Imperial transport is that transport a plain vehicle or does it come with Chapter tactics / regimental doctrines and access to Stratagems and upgrades associated to the Codex the transport comes from? Authority of the Inquisition only allows an Inquisitor/retinue to go into any Imperial transport. They don't actually have any transport rules for their army list alone. Including an Inquisitor in your army doesn't prevent Doctrines/Chapter Tactics/etc from applying, so the the transport would have whatever rules the base army they come with has. sairence
You need to buy the transport as part of a detachment that has access to it. So if you want a Chimera, you need a Guard attachment and it'll get all the rules tied to that. Your Inquisitor can then embark on it, that's all. ThePenitentOne
This is one of the things I hope they change when they revisit the rules for 9th ed. Authority of the Inquisition should allow you to include any imperial transport in an Inquisition detachment, as well as ride it. Slasher956
This is one of the things I hope they change when they revisit the rules for 9th ed. Authority of the Inquisition should allow you to include any imperial transport in an Inquisition detachment, as well as ride it. Go back to 3rd Eds approach... have an Inquistor HQ, elite of trainee inquistors (forget their title) henchmen squad (now troops instead of elite), Inquistorial storm troopers & Inquistorial transport selection... rhino, chimera, land raider.... leave the more esotic (immolators, razorbacks etc) to the relavent factions. Nice mini dex there - have the army rule of Authority of the Inquistion where they dont break faction special rules if a formation of them is included Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371799-authority-of-the-inquisition/#findComment-5747243 Share on other sites

librisrouge
I keep hoping that someday they'll give access to a full Agents of the Imperium codex. Something built around all of the minor factions of the Imperium that often have and do work together. Groups like: Inquisition Rogue Traders Adeptus Ministorum (think: the non-sister units from the Sororitas codex) Assassinorum Operatives Navigator Houses PDF/Private Armies/Men-at-Arms/Pilgrims militant/Inquisitorial Stormtroopers/etc. Between all of those groups, you could easily form a codex with complete armies, almost entirely from models GW already produces. Cough .... from the Witch Hunters 3rd Ed Codex....off memeory HQ: INQ + Canoness / Palatine Elite: Celestians, Assassin, Death Cult Assassins, Crusaders, Inq Retinue, priests, arcoflagelents Troops: Sisters of Battle, Inq Storm Troops, FA: Seraphim, dominons Heavy Support: Exorcist, Retributors, Land Raiders Transports: Chimera, Rhino, Immolator Special Characters: Living Saint, Inq in walking throne Could take most of the 3rd ed SM or IG 'dexs.... casb1965
Geez have I been playing that long, just looked and it's the 3rd Ed Daemonhunters codex I was thinking of. Montford
It would be a lot of fun if Authority of the Inquisition allowed an Inquisition Detachment to use any one Imperium Transport model for each Inquisition Infantry Unit in the Detachment. Then, say, if you had an Inquisitor and three squads of Inquisitorial Acolytes then you could also take a Land Raider, Manticore, Immolator and Razorback. :) librisrouge 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371799-authority-of-the-inquisition/#findComment-5755777 Share on other sites
ThePenitentOne
This was the one change, based on the table of contents for Octarius, that could have been made. It would have improved Inquisition detachment's playability tenfold, and it could have been achieved with a single line of text. Very disappointed that it didn't happen. WarriorFish
It's a shame. For GW too, as new Inquisition stuff is what would have made this a purchase for me...
