Relic Sicarian Arcus for competitive play

Found this beautiful gem by chance on the datasheets on battlescribe, and I honestly like what I'm seeing.

 

14W, T7, 2+ save, with a +1 to hit if they stand still. Better yet for the price cost of 215 points, you also give them 2 lascannons, a heavy bolter, a stormbolter and a mortar with 2D6 shots with blast, that ignores LoS at a 48" at S6, -2, 2 damage. Better yet, at 48" you can afford to stand still, even with a Deathwing blob screening them out, meaning you are always hitting on 2's, and wounding most things on 2's-3's (lascannons). I honestly think just based of this, it can be a good choice against orks, as a support backfield gunline for a Deathwing blob in front of them, on the board. Not only that, but that profile supersedes the gold standard (double volkite contemptor) with better AP, LoS and flat 2 damage, which goes around Admech's +1 to saves and the TS rubric marine saves. Sure you are trading in mortal wounds, but in a Deathwing army, you don't need MW to get the point across haha.

 

Put them on the board, or behind obscuring terrain (minus the lascannons) and you also got a nice brick to protect infantry. Could even go one step further and run a Librarian for a 5+ invuln bubble and advance them on the board.

If you play IH, then it could get -1Dmg and other vehicle related buffs. Which had made some tournament plays. Outside of IH chapter, it is just a weaker PBC(which is indeed also a Sicarian variant).

imo not super great, i think the one for us is the omega, mainly so you have a doom cannon u can point at hulking behemoths and maul from great distance with WFTDA, the arcus to me, is just a whirlwind sicarius with extra steps, or a slightly better whrilwind
