Chaplains face has been poked some more and as I get ready to get down to some lengthy transfer applications and painting an impulsor I decided to break up the pallet a bit to see what else could be done. Very WIP still but enjoyed the weapon swaps to get the weapons I wanted in the poses I wanted. Swapped out the tech marine bare head onto the Sargent to mark him out and nod towards the relic he will carry. Fun squad but definitely not on my list to paint another of any time soon. The camo cloaks have been tone altered a bit as they felt a little to close to the basing tones and though the camo should be good. No camo is tone perfect all the time. I’ll have some pics up of them later as they are nearing completion. I however got very distracted with a fun face. This hero is why tactical reserves turn up on time. Let’s not forget the logistics of reminding heretics of their place in the universe. I couldn’t get the camera to focus at all on all the elements and seem to be looking more sloppy than they are in life. The eliminators were a lot of fun and very much looking forwards to another unit in the future. Finally some pics of the Lt that don’t wash out the colour. Stray . The_Stray_Idea Posted December 7, 2021 Author Share Posted December 7, 2021 Continuing poking at the Chaplain. I decided to drop the skull helm in favour of the bare head. I feel the sculpt really captured the heritage of the tenth and the character of the Primarch which they draw their gene seed from. A bit of re working on the chest and a few purity seals added. Now just waiting for the crozius top to arrive to finish the detailing. Hope you all enjoy. The_Stray_Idea Posted December 9, 2021 Author Share Posted December 9, 2021 So the Chaplain build is now complete, I’m quite enjoying the simple and brutal mace head now that it’s on. Always nice to feel like you haven’t brought a kit for nothing. I couldn’t let a whole Sisters of Battle mini go to waste after pilfering just one bit. So chopped up a little Cannoness for my other half to enjoy as they aren’t a fan of the current one. I still need to add a little teddy to the base with stuffing coming out as a homage to Jes Goodwin and a chat I had with him years ago regarding details like that. The Cannoness and a teddy was the example that was come up with and I have to my shame never followed tbrough on the advice from one of the hobby’s great names.
