Whilst scrolling through Facebook i stumbled upon this and wondered if anyone had seen it before or whether anyone had pictures of other lists they may have done? Its seems to be a very thematic build that im quite tempted to do! I want to know if there are more!

Well it's thematic, but terrible for 3000 points.

There's 6 twinlinked lascannons, 2 kheres, 1 melta lance, 1 melta and 1 phosphex discharger for ranged output. Keep in mind that the Raiders need to move fast to unload their guys in melee and you'll be cutting the output in half for them, and that the leviathan is walking with an 18" range for the melta and you've got... 4ish lascannons (after twinlinked) and 12 assault cannon shots for ranged output in 3000 for the first turn or two. It's really, really poor and leaves you without many ways to weaken opposing units.

Then for melee, there's a whack of ap3, but very little ap2. You need your unit leader, dreadnoughts, or Sigismund to do more than scratch the paint, which means the list hinges on the dreadnoughts to get into melee after walking up the board and being the main targets to any STR 8 or lower shots.

Finally, 3 scoring units in an army that can be forced to go to turn 6.

Its really only good at killing power armour and rhinos unfortunately, but doesn't have the output or staying power to function against a well rounded list. If you wanted a better version, I'd consider dropping the Raiders for 2 dreadclaws, getting a dreadpod for the leviathan, and then using left over points for a rhino, more scoring units and maybe a unit of javelins or something.

Yeah what Skimaskmohawk said, id also expect the dreads to evaporate under the guns of everything that cant easily hurt a landraider.

Personally if i was building a Sigismund list id probably look at his force from Warhawk. I dont have the rules to hand but a shattered Legion force of Fists (mostly Templars) and Blood Angels with possibly militia allies, loads of infantry with some support weapons or light fortifications, almost certainly also awful but i like the imagery!

Is this actually an official GW or Forgeworld suggestion? Really a bit boring to have copy/paste on any unit, let alone doing it this many times. Also isn’t it “Solarite”?

It's almost certainly an unofficial thing using the style template used for the black books.

Even FW can't agree on the spelling of Solarite vs Solerite. The custodes versions of the weapons are called solerite.

Well, it's 'Solarite' in the Fists part of the AoD army list, and 'Solerite' in the Custodes army list. Maybe they'll settle for one variant at some point.

Regardless of that, I kinda like this little snippet.

Yes, it certainly isn't an optomized army list, but then, aren't we playing HH mostly for fluff / background reasons anyways ?

Not all of us, I know.

In either case, it's a nice little tidbit, it's thematical and might inspire people to design a list / force of their own. And every bit of content that might inspire sombody is a good bit of content.

Personally, I really enjoy all the small things they have released during those past weeks.

Drop the 3rd Templar Brethren squad and one of the Contemptors, gets it down to about 2000 points and that’s a solid enough foundation to build a much stronger and more varied 3000 point list without losing the theme.

As it stands, it would probably do all right against first gen style Heresy lists that were mostly either blob squads with Apothecaries, or cash-restricted Pride of the Legion armies, but otherwise it manages to be a bit dull and quite weak.

The Eternal debate really. if you are trying to be simulationist copy/paste is pretty much the way to go, it be be weirder for Sigismund not to have at least a platoon strength group of Templars with him, or for one random dreadnought to drop pod in with your Mechanised infantry, and where are all the tactical marines! :D

Its a train of thought that tactically works better in Epic scale usually but its not inherently unfluffy. Ofc it can also be some min max nonsense but this is far from a particularly competitive list.

Why do FW and GW have a love for the gun and fist dreads? If they are the only anti-air all the other player has to do is throw a cheap squad in melee with them and boom, the IF have no AA. Two with duel guns would be vastly better as the rest of the army is all tooled up to be melee so having some ranged firepower wouldn't go amiss there.

Because then your dread has the chance of being tarpitted for the rest of the game after only ever shooting once and, that, is not really a great investment.

Also, the Deredeo exists.
