I almost didn’t pick this book up but I thought I would give it a shot and it is absolutely great. I’m three chapters in and it’s really captivated me. The author seems to be pretty new to BL but a great talent. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Yea, great read. If I remember correctly I really enjoyed the first two thirds but I found the closing action sequences pretty dull. The opening has a Peter Fev feel to it

I ignored this because (I thought) it was just another Space Marine novel (apart from HH and ADB I mostly avoid as prefer hummie pov stories).

 

However, Michael on Track of Words gave a glowing review and I trust his taste. So it is now on the reading pile!

That's about how I felt. It did a great job world building and setting up the Carcarodons. The climax was just a bit too much for my taste. I prefer my Marines to be super-soldiers, not demigods.
