I do think it's worth pointing that part of the issue with the box is just how many options you have for marine starter armies. It's just going to be a lot easier to make a box when you only have one combat patrol to compliment. Marines have several combat patrols, new BT box, are one of the starter set armies, and have the vanguard box. It's just hard to find a combination of models that players are excited about.

Its not. They (GW) track individual sales metrics of each product. They just need to put the top sellers in a Christmas bundle at a discount, its literally that simple. The real balance is in the mix of duds to what is popular/ people want to buy, which is how these bundles are really put together. Too many duds and no one buys, too much good stuff and you are giving away the top sellers with a needless discount to move them.

I think it’s a great box to be honest it’s got all the best options for actually filling out or starting an army not just a collection of the lesser selling boxes but mostly the best selling… apart from the speeder which is still a great model Edited by BladeOfVengeance

pretty sure intercessors and assault intercessors are two of the best selling kits…

The bigger complaint is that “everyone already has plenty of these troops”

So if the primary complaint is that most people already have the majority of the units in the box, simply packing the best sellers into the box won’t likely alleviate that complaint.

I think it's easy until you start factoring things like your last point. I do think if they had made a bundle where heavy intercessors were the main focus it would have been better received but I just think that are so many marine starters that it's hard to make something exciting.

I'm at the point where I don't buy bundles anymore. I just don't need to add to the plastic shame pile, but I think they should focus on other armies for these bundles. It's good for the game for other armies to have good starting points and besides the marine bundle I would recommend any of them to new players.

10 HIs, 3 aggressors, 3 inceptors, gravis captain, and stormspeeder and I’d be jumping on this easy, no doubt about that. Edited by Inquisitor_Lensoven
