My nightbringer proxy

I'm getting a nb proxy, the failcast one just isn't very impressive plus failcast quality issues.

He's 6" tall, bigger than NB but still smaller that the void dragon. I also like the egyptian theme.

Will likely leave the mummies off, see if anyone wants them form something, and add some scarabes and maybe a cryptek's bug base i cut off for a conversion.

Seems a little Fantasy esque for me but I'd love to see your work.

Well, the official nb js pretty much a fantasy Reaper or wraith with a few scarab on the base, right? Deceiver might as well be a genie or djinn, etc except for the necrons under him.

 

So I replace the mummies with scarabs, add a cryptek bug I cut off as a Conversion, maybe a green crystal or two and hello c'tan! Maybe the ankh goes too.

 

One thing I am considering is making the, jewely and staff dark but tge wrappings and shrouds different, eitger yellowed abd grey or maybe some itger dark color like red ir purple.

Its such a difficult one.

That model is farrrrr better and more interesting than the current night bringer.

But neither look very "necrony".

 

Where as the void dragon fits right into the necron army.

GW really need to get to work on updating them.

 

Will you be attempting to make a big scythe for it?

I made a mold of my buddies and poured my own. Had to use a blade from an old heros quest skeleton but you cant tell unless you really look for it.

No,  the cobra staff looks deadly enough.

It is an issue that people who want to play in GW's own stores or events have to use GW models. It's annoying but it's not new.

 

I've got the failcast Nightbringer. I'd like to make him look like the art a bit more. There's a great old image of him floating down on some admech guys with robes billowing around and lightning. The model doesn't replicate that at all, presumably due to what was possible with metal when he was originally made.

 

Good luck with your version. It looks like a cool model. I'd maybe skip the mummies bursting out of the ground, or perhaps replace them with necron warriors if possible.
