I keep seeing everyone talk about how great this guy is. Yes the +1 attack is nice plus whatever warlord trait you give him, but how do people use him? He cant really keep up with the 3 units he buffs most wraiths, skorpekhs and praetorians. I am trying to decide whether to bring him or a support CCB which is far faster and more survivable. I know there is some synergy between Night Scythes but I dont have one. So is there a use for a foot slogging Anrakyr with a mobile necron force?

I think he might be harder to use than it first appears, due to needing to keep up, especially if you're playing eternal expansionists. But even so that +1A aura is extremely good, making him well worth having even if it obviously won't apply all the time. His Warlord trait of rerolls to charges is also now quite good - of course anyone can have that, but it doesn't feel like such a waste any more.

There's also the fact that, as a dynastic agent, he buffs everything. There's a case for running multiple dynasties (especially with command protocols being such a waste and Anrakyr can hand out MWBD and stuff to everyone.

I do come back to that +1A thing. I think probably the optimal units to run this with are Lychguard and Skorpekhs. The Lychguard will be very blendy with 4A each and he can easily keep up with them. Skorpekhs are fast but their large bases mean it might be easier than you'd think to get in range, especially if you have a second rank of destroyers. +1A even makes things like warriors and immortals a bit of a threat in melee, so it's not actually a disaster if the Skorpekhs are elsewhere.

Overall my on-paper assessment is that he's worth considering. I don't know if he's awesome but he does look useful.
