Your conversion, particularly the legs, is quite seamless. The head swap works well, so does the extra 'armour.' on the back. Thank you! Yeah im really pleased how it came out, and i didnt have to use a lot of different parts. I think sticking with just 'cron parts is what makes it work. Although i did use old warp talon feet for the front claws. space wolf
So I seem to need a little more than a small break, so Ive moved on to the Warboss of the Ork WAAAAAGH in the vicinity of the Primordus System. He's about 70% completed. Head cannon: he was once an extremely dangerous (possible existential threat to the Imperium) warboss 4000 years ago. Then one day, due to his Weirdboy's head exploding) he and his entire fleet were scattered into the Warp, only to find himself (and only the core of his fleet...a space hulk, 2 stolen cruisers and an extremely damaged attack moon) 4000 years in the future. Known as Da Freeboota Baron, Kommadore (Insert Ork Name Here), seeks to carve out his own empire "full 'o al da shoiny stuf." He had a reputation of being particularly favored by Mork, as he was always extremely "cunin' but brutal." Now caught in a new time, with new rivals, he seeks once again to reign supreme (as one or can) over all his kind. As he gathers his bearings and seeks to rebuild, he has heard whispers of a particular Goff known as "the Beast," that may directly challenge his own might. "Da Perpl 'Ardeez" (The Void Panthers) will provide a sufficient fight to get his boyz back into "krump'n" shape, and to start his particular brand of WAAAAGH! Known as the "WAAAAAARRGH!" So hes my Ghaz stand in...and the model is huge. I think a lot of the detail will read better once painted, but ive added a sort of "chain beard" underneath his iron gob, some admiral epulets on either shoulder, and a mekanical peg leg...and a hat of course. Whats left is to add the feather, the jolly rodger flag on his boss pole and a parrot squig on the little perch above his powerclaw arm. The yellow "stones" on his claw are going to painted like gems...as a freeboota he likea his "bling." Any thoughts on a name? Suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking. Firedrake Cordova
He looks suitably imposing. I do like the epaulets. What's the base model? For the name, you could go with something Orkily brutal, like Ed-krumpa, or something piratey, like Blaktoof? As an aside, the abominable intellect suggested Braggurz Grotswindla, which feels a bit ... unheroic. (Gitswindla might be appropriate for a Blood Axe, I suppose) Some of it's other suggestions made me chuckle - Skallywag Snortskull (notorious for shouting sea-shanties over the vox mid-battle to “keep da ladz in rhythm.”), and Snazzgob Grog-Guzzla (runs his bridge like a tavern. Promotions decided by chugging contests and headbutts.)... Vairocanum
Love all the details you've added to the model, the chain beard especially! Maybe something like Leadbeard for the name? space wolf
@Firedrake Cordova it was the Iron Boss from Artel W. @Vairocanum so after a brief conversation with the Machine Spirits myself, below is what I came up with. I like to ise AI to better focus my ideas. I usually go through several iterations taking what i like leaving what I dont and adding more on. Kommadore Snazzogg Plun-Dar I. The Legend Returns Da Freeboota Baron, Kommadore Snazzogg Plun-Dar, is an Ork of terrifying legend. Four millennia ago, he was the biggest and most brutal Ork in the entire galaxy, leading a WAAAGH! that represented an existential threat to the Imperium. As a Warboss, he earned the fearsome favor of Mork (the Cunning God), elevating his already monstrous brutality with unpredictable, tactical genius—a trait refined during his days as a Blood Axe. His rule was absolute, dictated by an obsessive need for perfection and the acquisition of all the galaxy's "shoiny stuf." This reign of terror ended abruptly when a disastrous Weirdboy incident scattered his fleet into the Warp. Now, 4,000 years later, he has instantly re-emerged, still the massive brute he was, ready to launch his new WAAAAAARRGH! II. The Core of the WAAAAAARRGH! Kommadore Snazzogg Plun-dar commands a grim, ancient fleet painted in dark, contrasting colors: Aged Teal/Indigo and heavy Shiny Gold trim, accented by Electric Cyan power glows—an aesthetic that declares his status. Flagship (Space Hulk): Glitzkrieg Cruisers: Void Ramma and Starloota Ultimate Weapon: Mork's Eye (Attack Moon) His personal aesthetic is defined by his weapons: the crushing, gem-encrusted status symbol, Da Glitta-Klaw (with integrated Big Shoota), and his massive, pirate-styled Big Choppa, Star-Reaver, with its solid basket hilt. III. The Rule of Cunning Snazzogg leads with a surprising amount of panache and theatrical swagger, treating every battle as a stage for his genius. His leadership philosophy is based on Mork's cunning and his own terrifying Obsessive Perfectionism. His elite retinue, Da Vulcha Krew, are the grizzled survivors of his Warp-trip. They wear distinctive armor with hints of their Blood Axe past, acting as specialized raiding commanders. Da Vulcha Krew uses Stormboyz not as a simple mob, but for surgical, high-speed strikes to secure the most lucrative objectives, often making smart use of diversions and flanking maneuvers. Snazzogg keeps his Nobs in line not with constant beatings, but with the chilling knowledge that he has already thought of every treacherous move they could make. His signature line serves as a chilling warning to his own boyz and his enemies alike: "Dey ain't ready for me best move, cos dey ain't seen it yet!" IV. The Ultimate Rivalry The Kommadore seeks to carve out a new empire, but he immediately hears whispers of "The Beast"—Ghazghkull Thraka. This sets the stage for the ultimate conflict in Orkdom: Snazzogg Plun-dar, the legendary former apex of Ork might and master of Mork's cunning, must now prove if his singular, immense power and ancient Mork-favor is enough to overcome Ghazghkull, who is rumored to command the combined, universal power of Gork (Brutality) and Mork (Cunning). The greatest brute of the past has returned to challenge the greatest Ork of the present. space wolf
Well, he's done. Took a lot more work than i thought initially. I decided that an Ork who calls himself "Kommadore" should be suitably fancy. Plus i thought he'd look more "piratey" if I sculped a squigeon to rest on his shoulder...i think it'll look good once painted, but right now i find the squig.....questionable.... And a 360 Thoughts? Thanks for looking. kabaakaba
Squig is perfect, maybe a bit wider wings. As of "Kommadore" I have question about his left leg. IMHO it should classic pirate leg without fit. Or if you want a fit it should be larger. He is brutal, cunning and pose is pretty active and Some how current a mid variant brake magic of whole model for me. I wanted them to look like he could barely get off of the ground with them. So just to clarify, are you saying his peg leg should either be bigger or smaller? Dr_Ruminahui
I think he's turning out great! Personally, I don't have a problem with the tiny foot on the peg leg. I like the squig, but find its face a little too human. At first glance, I thought its wings were a wig (like an revolutionary era white wig that British judges still wear), but I think that's just a combination of the angle and the hair on its head. That said, if it were a wig, that would be hilarious, but have less of a direct pirate tie in. space wolf 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/372774-in-defense-of-primordus-makari-stand-in-wip-20-dec-2025/page/8/#findComment-6145121 Share on other sites

His stance wouldnt be as wide with just a peg at the angle it would need to sit. But the way the model is, the legs are all one solid piece of resin, and I wasnt going to mess with cutting the legs to repose. Plus I like how it looks like more of a cyber leg than just a peg...but it still has the sillouhette of a peg leg. On 12/1/2025 at 2:26 PM, The Pounder said: Personally, I really like the Squig. space wolf
Well it was a journey, but i finished him. I couldnt do too many background photos, the model is so "busy" its hard to tell what youre looking at otherwise. Kommador Snazzog Plun-Dar And a 360 Kommadore Plun-Dar with his "Dredd-WAAAGH!" Fleet was not just "a Freeboota," but "Da Freeboota." He was considered THE warboss and was an existential threat to the Imperium circa M36, or at least would have been if a weirdboy hadnt been krump'd too hard in the head which unexpectedly scattered his fleet into the warp. After two years of warp travel, the Kommadore's flagship, "The Glitzkrieg," and a few others, punched a hole back into real space...in M41. Now, as Mork's most favored (at least he was), he hears tales of a Warboss in this time that is the most favored of both Gork and Mork. With what is left of his fleet, the Kommadore seeks to rebuild his "Dredd-WAAAGH!" and challenge the "Warboss of Warbosses" of this time. Once considered the living embodiment of "kunnin' but brutal," Plun-Dar will use every trick in his considerable arsenal. Armed with the "Glitta-Klaw," and a brutal big choppa beaten out of a mysterious material found on his warp journey into the future, known as the "Star-Reeva" Kommadore Plun-Dar will take on any challenge. +++++++++ Overall im very pleased with how he turned out. I wish the squig was a bit smaller, but oh well. I think overall he works. Thoughts? Thanks for looking. space wolf
Thanks guys, overall i was really happy with how he turned out....but the squigg was bothering me. I also cut back some of the neck and bulked out its frame so it looked more squat and fat...like any good squigg, aaaaand added some back spikes. Here's a before and after. Thoughts? i also got my hands on thr boarding patrol, with the beast snaggas, flashgitz, snikgrot, and kommandos. Ill be turning thr kommandos into boyz, as i already have 10 kommandos. Firedrake Cordova
Looks great to me - I love that the chest is so stuffed with loot that it won't shut and has to be lugged around slightly open and chained shut.
