Gnasher Posted yesterday at 06:37 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:37 PM How about weathering with just dust / grime, no (or few) scratches so it looks like its fairly new to the theatre, been used but not yet seen any really heavy engagements? space wolf 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/372774-the-void-panthers-impuslor-to-repulsor-wip-9-aug-2025/page/5/#findComment-6127609 Share on other sites

If so, i do that because i just cant be bothered to glaze in smooth transitions, lol. This way they look pretty good up close and better a table top distance away. This is what I was thinking about. I like the 'can't be bothered to glaze transitions' style - it works really well and I know that it only looks better in person. I had nit intended on decorating the vehicle with any trophies. 1 because im lazy and dont like converting vehicles. 2. Because I can justify it in my head cannon, that trophies are about personal victories. Since vehicles are used by numerous members if the chapter their vehicles would lack such ornamentation. And 3. The Void Panthers are ironically, a very practical chapter, thuse the use of camo for vehicles that can quite easily become targets. I dig the explanation. It makes sense from a lore perspective. And given your progress with the already painted tank, it also works mode-wise. Lacking creativity as I am, I think that it would be a difficult task to make the model tasteful after some Cimmerian tuning. I wouldn't know where to start with adding bones and fangs and whatnot. I know that you would make it work, though. Having said that, keeping things more 'vanilla' also makes sense, particularly when it comes to the 'lesser,' more utilitarian vehicles. With regard to weathering the vehicle, I agree with @Gnasher. Add some scrapes and scratches here and there and you're fine - it'd be a waste to cover up/distract from the cool paint job. I also like the front-mounted multi-melta with the side-mounted mag. The metallic gun makes the front more interesting. One thing I'm not sure about, though, is the shield generator. There is something off about it - it either sits too high on the top of the hull or it's not reinforced by sandbags enough (or perhaps a bit of both?). Or maybe the sandbags are a bit too small? I'm not sure. I'll admit that it also might just be the photo - the generator and bags look okay from the side, but somehow worse in the more top-down photo. It might be because how small they are on the large camo canvas. Tallarn Commander
Whenever I go back and add weathering to Chaos Marines I’m always glad I did.
