space wolf
Yeah i think so too. Some of it was done because i needed to cover up the corners from the chapter symbol waterslide transfer. At this point they are all covered in varnish, so theres not much i can do except accept it. Thank you for the feedback. If it continues to bother me, i may just paint over it. space wolf
So aside from some minor GS work to attach all the claws and teeth to their respective ropes, this sword bro is done. Im using the bladeguard vet kit, so ill be doing these three at a time. I think 10 to 15 sword bretheren should be sufficient. Thoughts? Thanks for looking. The Pounder
Fantastic work! I’m all thumbs when it comes to green stuff and sculpting in general! Loving the head! Did you attach the spikes? It’s the old MKIII right? Just super glued them on there and dripped some "spruegoo" around the glue point to strengthen it and to make the transition seamless. space wolf
So I finished up this Seneschal (Sword Bro) and almost finished uo tye 2nd one minus some minor detailing (GS work to connect the bits and bibs to the ropes and straps and such). Dr_Ruminahui
Looking good! If I were to quibble, its about the backpack standard on the last guy - the droop (in particular the bend in the middle) doesn't make sense to me. If it were acting purely as affected by gravity, due to the tilt in the standard "pole", it should be hanging down straight onto the marine's head. On the other hand, if it is being pushed by the wind, the bottom portions should be pushed as far back as the bend, as the parts farthest away from the "pole" on the flag are usually the parts of the flag most effected by air currents. To me, its current droop/bend would make sense if there is something tieing the standard back to the "pole" at the bend point - so maybe if you added another brass ring there? Brother Christopher
Great work, as always. I'm impressed that you went through the effort of altering the legs (knee pads) and tabards on the Bladeguard models. After inspecting the sprues, I was a bit apprehensive about fiddling with these but I actually might give it a go, too, when I get around to doing something with my models. You've gotta love the poses, too. The BG kit offers some really cool bits and you've went with the coolest ones for these! space wolf
@Dr_Ruminahui Thanks for the feedback! i see what youre saying. Well Ive finished him and made some adjustments, good looking out . @Brother Christopher thanks! Yeah the bladeguard models are top notch! But i probably wont be buying aniyher one to convert. They are a bit to "chonky" for my tastes...and there is a lot of detail i have to remove, just to add it back on. On the plus side it comes with a lot of bits i can use with regular BT bodies . Finished up the next guy. And a 360. space wolf
Finished up my Judiciar, manged to get a copy of dawn of war: onslaught. And a 360. Wanted him to look like an old fashioned headsman or executioner. I waffle back and forth if the axe head is just too comically big. Thoughts? Thanks for looking. Valkia the Bloody
He is wearing power armour and the axe is as much ceremonial as for use. Therefore, the axe is fine, in my opinion. Brother Christopher
Oh, yeah, it is comically big but it's also awesome. He has a commanding presence and the axe is what the original model needed. I've always felt that the BG Ancient is a cool model in theory but he was a bit too static and I never really liked it, beyond the theory. Replacing the reliquary-banner thingy with a ridiculous executioner's axe 'fixed' the miniature. The model gives of an aura of stoic gravitas. I love it. space wolf and Firedrake Cordova 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/372774-the-void-panthers-sword-bro-2-done-27-oct-2025/page/6/#findComment-6136564 Share on other sites

And a 360 Since i already made a judiciar, i figured id use the model for something else. I think it came out pretty well. Unsure about the head, but realistically, i dont think i can really do anything about it now. Thoughts? Thanks for looking. Firedrake Cordova
It's amazing how a hand/gun and head swap can completely change a model (I like the Necron trophy, too) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/372774-the-void-panthers-sword-bro-2-done-27-oct-2025/page/6/#findComment-6137537 Share on other sites
space wolf
Totally true, its funny what small changes can do to a model. So i finished up one of the models, and i thought maybe some of you would like a view into my painting process. So we start with a black primed model and base coat it with Dark Prussian Blue from Vallejo Model Color (or similar from another paint range) The we volumetrically highlight with 50/50 Dark Prussian Blue and Blue Violet (Vallejo again) Then another highlight with pure blue violet. Then a 3rd and final highlight with a 70/20/10 mix of titanium white (proacryl)/blue violet/dark prussian blue. We will also paint all the leather Saddle Brown (Reaper). then scratchy highlight the leather with Pale Sand (Vallejo). Then, we just tint the leather with a thin coat Contrast Snakebite Leather (Citadel). From there its pretty standard painting. Seneschal Datuun - "Your skill with your sword is admirable, 'green one,' but it will not halt your destruction." - Datuun to Aeldari Scorpion Exarch during the SHATTERED MOON CAMPAIGN And a 360 Thoughts?
