Will probably get my Primarch SoB project back underway when we hit those issues of Imperium too tho!

So many projects...too little time...

In 2022 my goals are to:

1) Play games: Actually get back to playing with a fully painted army.  I haven't played a game since 2019 and it's been far longer than that since playing a game where every miniature was 'done' and based.

2) Learn and use a new painting technique: Specifically, drybrush stippling/smudging.  I've tried many approaches in the past and have realized recently that part of why I'm struggling to find motivation to paint is that I no longer enjoy the techniques I am trying to use; eyesight, hand steadiness, and other factors have contributed to this.  Maybe a new method will rekindle the hobby spirit.

3) Paint armies: Can't play with a fully painted army if you don't paint! (Or get someone else to do it.)  It will be ideal if I can finish all of these in 2022 but will aim for chunks of 1000 points at a time as a more reasonable target.  Army project backlog:

  A. 30K Sons of Horus (~4K points owned, aiming to do at least 1 of every possible unit eventually)

  B. Net Epic Armageddon steel legion (mostly 3D printing, aiming to be able to be able to field any options)

  C.  Adeptus Titanicus Legio Mortis (1 warmaster, 2 warlords, 2 reavers, and 4 warhounds awaiting pigmentation rituals)

  D. BFG/battlefleet heresy (mostly 3D printing but have a 2-3K marine fleet boxed up somewhere, planning for 1500+ point fleets for SoH, Imperial, and Blood Angels)

In support of goal 3, will try to participate every month in Grotsmasha's lovely 12 months of hobby 2022 challenge.

Hobby Side: I think I want to get a display ready AdMech force done. I've had the models for years, maybe pick up the hobby tools again and get stuff done. ETL when?!

Life Side: I need to be back in the gym. Covid making it hard, but its gotta happen.

I hope to do much the same as I have for the last two years. Build more terrain, some of which I will be donating to the local 30K group. And add more models to my Imperial Guard and finish painting whatever else  I find I have either forgotten or neglected for my Orks and Primaris BA's. Oh, and add more models/units to my First Legion collection. Can't leave out playing more games.
Playing so few games has made playing every other game more of a struggle than it should be, can't remember rules ect. Very irritating. The good news is I may have just setup my next game, the first of this year for next week!

I just wanna play a damn game, but all the local gamers in GW are kinda weird, and I dont mean that in the usual nerdy way. I think its just the town I live in, most of the people I have met here since I moved have been less than pleasant to be around.

I may have to drag M@l!ce round for a game at some point. :smile.:

Anyone else local to Kings Lynn is more than welcome to throw dice and drink beer.

If you have the dreaded Facebook check on there for local clubs mate. That’s how I found my local club. I only use Facebook for that and no other nonsense.

Unfortunately the local club is where I met the weirdos.

I managed to get a bunch of my club to follow me in starting a heresy army, so my goal for 2022 is making that a fun and successfull army project for everyone! 10 dudes in total, cant wait to get our first games in, even if we start really small (500 points for the first stage from march on)

Not strictly 40k, but just to finish at least one model a month.

For a variety of reasons I found even that fairly limited goal too much to handle in 2021, I would like 2022 to be a bit of a restart and refresh of the hobby (and in general...).

If you're not already part of it, you could check out the '12 Months of Hobby 2022' thread in the Forge's Work in Progress section.

It's all about knocking off that one model a month, with lots of encouragement and support.

I’m going to do something easier this year, as last year my aim was to buy and fully paint 2k of Krieg (which I failed)

This year I’d like to paint what I have and build an Armoured Company to go alongside my Artillery Company!

Also (COVID allowing) I’d like to play more games.

I've been wanting to build a Word Bearers army since playing Dark Crusade a decade or so ago. I convinced myself Word Bearers couldn't field some of the units from the game (berserkers and if I recall Raptors for some reason or another). I always regretted it.

So for 2022 I plan to build a legal Word Bearers army. I have the units, including a Dark Apostle and cultists my wife bought me for Christmas. If I can manage that legal army I'll be happy but I'd also like to paint the new chosen when they come out and some other fun units.

There’s a few at mine too which I avoid :biggrin.:

I'm going to try to keep better track of what modelling projects I start and complete for myself this year. My contribution to my plogs can be a bit haphazard so I will mark down what I've completed. That was when it gets to the end of the year I can join the fad on Instagram to show off the year's models. I will still post to the plogs here but I'm keeping track centrally now.

Apart from that it's just to be generally more productive on the painting front and reorganise my room to fit more clutter and hopefully get rid of some of my oldhammer books to whoever wants them. I feel bad about throwing away books so they are just taking up space and I've never tried to ebay stuff before so getting rid of them hasn't really worked.

I really need to learn the rules confidently again too. 40k, Blood Bowl, Kill Team. Perhaps if I give up sleep I will have enough time to get all this nonsense finished. :teehee:

1. Attend my first big (30+ players) 40k tournament in April, and hopefully finish at least 50/50.

2. Attempt to finish each delivery (assembly and painting) of the US Imperium mag before the next month's delivery.

3. Build my recast Lucius Warhound that I got off ebay 3 years ago (and has been sitting in my basement ever since...).

4. Enjoy the game and hopefully meet some new people/introduce new people to the game.

I am terrible at living up to painting goals, but there's a new set of glasses in the not-too distant future, which should theoretically make it easier.

Trying to aim small and succeed, so aiming for one model per month. This may change if the glasses work out the way I hope they will.

I have a TON of assembled plastic to choose from. Deathwatch 25PL is probably my easiest target- 12 infantry models= 25 PL

(Watch Master leading 5 man Proteus team, Inquisitor Kyria Draxus leading 5 man Fortis team)

New years resolution would be to paint the stuff I already got before getting new things.

Never going to happen, but at least put it out there....

I still have unpainted models from years ago, and currently, half of the stuff on my shelves is unpainted.

I hope I will get more done this year.

Simples, Play my first game since the late 90s. Hopefully there's a chance I'll be able to do that this month but we'll see if family priorities allow.

I’m waiting to see if we do get rolled into the Eldar codex before I do anything with the harlies.

Most importantly: finding a place to live that will provide me some hobby space. Then finding a job that will allow me some hobby time...

On the actual hobby side of things, getting started with oil paints, doing more Necromunda stuff and (perhaps) doing some Ash Wastes/Gorkamorka stuff with a friend.

Paint up more 30k DA and WB, and especially play more games of that. We got to play a couple 30k games last year.

Might organize a 30k crew at the local GW store, there was a lot of interest in that, so 30k could end up being regularly played there.
