Monstra Sumus
Those models are fantastic - so characterful. What's the story behind the attached Silver Star? Thank you Dr Ruminahui! The Silver Star is a liaison from the Silver Star legion of Astartes loyal to the returned Primarch Volnoscere. This entity claims to be one of the lost Primarchs and appears with a demi legion of older Astartes under his command. It sparks a smaller scale civil war in the early days of the Imperium's post Heresy setting in where Space Marines loyal to the High Lords and those who see a returned father figure in Volnoscere clash in a short but very brutal conflict. These are Star Wardens who are wracked by internal strife and turmoil following a schism the Chapter faces towards the end of the War of the False Primarch. Originally believing Volnoscere to be their gene legacy and the Silver Stars to be some kind of cousin the Star Wardens are soon infected with the idea that there are no true similarities between them and soon the idea of kinship turns to repulsion. There are those who are still loyal to Volnoscere within the Chapter and these brothers paint their arms golden in allegiance. Those who remain loyal to their Chapter keep the crimson staining. This kill team's theme is set just before the internal conflict where brother turns on brother. Those with the golden arms will ultimately die at the hands of their more traditional brethren. The Erisor is a figure of living death, a mortuary cult leader whos sole purpose is to reave and rend the foe to inflict as much physical and psychological damage as possible leads the purging of the Star Wardens 5th Cadre. This whole setting was started by the talented Apologist and you can check out the work by searching #warofthefalseprimarch on instagram or on the blog https://warofthefalseprimarch.blogspot.com/ Brother Lunkhead, Shovellovin, Gamiel and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/372848-dread-squad-barghest-war-of-the-false-primarch/#findComment-5782701 Share on other sites
