You should have reworded that question differently then, because divine protection very much is the #1 litany. Shoulda asked for second-most used.

Which is actually remorseless persecution because a horde of autobolters don't slap things very hard, but a horde of autobolters slapping mortal wounds smarts.

This is something I’ve been thinking a lot about since my last games. Now I know you don’t want to hear about divine protection but I always pick it as well as the 6’s = mortals.

honestly neither of these are working for me. Last two games I’ve actually been shocked how little they kick in. Last game in particular against AdMech I was sure I was going to lose and in part that’s because I made one 5+ Fnp all game. At some time during the game I started switching to reroll all hits in CC and I think I got far more out of it.

Too bad persecution is only on melee attacks.

My pick for #2 is bonus attack. It scales really hard and you get more potential damage than 6 compared to persecution.

I really like Fervent Acclamation. In a particular matchup, +1A might be stronger. But the flexibility of Acclamation is what I like.

Enemy has a psyker? Abhor and put 3" extra movement on a unit turn 1. Sending Assault Intercessors off to fight high toughness opponents? Slap Suffer Not on them and away they go. Want someone in the Assault Doctrine? Accept! (This is also good if you think the combat will last two rounds.)

Also leaves you able to take another Vow than Uphold if the enemy army lacks AP-3, but still put a 5++ on a key unit as required.

It may vary by your list. If you have more dreads and elite melee units then +1A is better, if you have big crusader units then MW is better.

It might, but what I said was that I liked the higher damage potential of the extra attack. 20>6 on a crusader blob.

Thanks guys! only reason why I didn't want to hear about divine protection is because I pretty much always take it, and mostly looking for arguments for the others. Gonna be fighting orks today, and gotta think of a good second choice for my MoS chappy. I am leaning towards the +1 attack to slap on my VVets, as they will be having a 6+ FNP from an apothecary, but I am trying to decide what would be best.

That's what I mean. A bunch of bolter-carriers are fairly laughable in melee, but have enough weight of attacks to proc the full 6 MW's after re-rolls are factored.

It's been enough to scare off a lot of units that would have dared to wade in to hold some shooty boys down otherwise.

I did run into a problem yesterday where my biker chaplain didn't have much of a chance to buff anyone. All my Vvet dudes were in an LRC for turn 1, as were my two squads of firstborn crusaders. I could have had him run up to assist either flank, but that would have left him in the open and my deathstar unsupported... gotta think of buff distribution and positioning more.
