Got the McFarlane Flayed One in yesterday, and spent all day more or less painting him up. Did his colours based on the machine lifeforms from Nier: Automata, so a sort of dull beige-bone colour with lots of rust and grime, and also the glowy bits being done in pinkish-red. Has to be my fastest project ever!

Started from Mr. Surfacer 1200 grey followed by Mr. Finishing Surfacer 1500 black for preshading. The beige was done with a mix of Tamiya flat earth, dark yellow and flat white, followed by shading of flat earth and then a highlight of flat white with a tiny bit of flat earth in the mix, all by airbrush. The metal was Scale75 Black Metal applied by hand. All of the following was then washed with a mix of burnt umber and lamp black oil paints before being sponged with Skrag Brown for rust. The eyes and rib recesses were painted white before being airbrushed with a mix of S75 Fluorescent Magenta and Red. The whole lot was then topcoated with Tamiya clear flat. Then I picked out the flesh with Cadian Fleshtone and washed that with Magos Purple Contrast, and the claws were airbrushed (and then touched up by hand because I suck at masking) with Molotow chrome. Finally, Tamiya clear red was used for the blood effects.

I'm not likely to start a Necron force any time soon but if I do for some reason it'll be in these colours!
