JH.Miniatures
My first Phoenix Lord! Jain Zar is finally done, you can watch the full video tutorial here: As always this was all Contrast Paints with extra highlights and I'm very proud of this one as well, a very challenging mini to paint but a truly gorgeous sculpt. Hope you like it! Xenith
Nice work, I really love contrasts for Eldar, they work so well. In addition to using it as a base for highlighting as you do, I just used contrasts only for a decent finish in ludicrous time - armour is same recipe as you, while the hair is pure gryph hound. In other news, I got my Howling Banshees finished, thanks to contrast paints. I reckon this unit took about 6 hours total including drying time, which is something I coudn't have even dreamed of a few years ago. I think my last unit of Aspect Warriors took about a month.
