so I am reading the Deathwatch omnibus and it mentions how’s the Marines power armor is upgraded and given advanced systems I.e. better vision enhancements stealth upgrades etc etc…my question is do you think the Marine gets to keep these upgrades to his power armor if and when they return to their chapter?

It would probably be on a case by case basis. A skilled sniper or infiltrator may get to keep the noise mufflers on his servo units, but keeping a psyocculum that was given to dispatch some filthy Aeldari witch might be a tougher grab, even for a most skilled Blood Raven 'Acquisition Specialist '.

 

Even if the upgrade is given to the brother, upon his death the Chapter may be required to return the device, depending on it's rarity.

The source of technology will have a big part to play. Can't imagine your chapter being happy with you walking around sporting a Xenos cloaking device for example.

good point it probably is a case by case basis…just an interesting thing to think about…imagine having to give back great tech once you got used to it…telling the young scouts all about the advanced auto senses I use to have…
