CA2022 missions encourage players to bring some cheap infantry units which could perform actions, and not at 1 or 2 models but preferably 5+ models. So 2 models company veterans unit is not as attractive as before.

Some custodes players begin to take rogue trader voidsmen. They are "Agent of the Imperium", so could be insert to any patrol, battalion (or brigade) detachement without screwing faction keywords. They have similar profile(T3 W1 4+) as servitors, but 8pts each model for unit size 5-10, while servitors are fixed 30pts for 4.

Would they be useful to marines under new missions? (The models acquisition is not problem; they can be WYSIWYG converted from too many things)

I use them in my DA list, played a game last night with a set of 6 that I put into strategic reserve. Scored an RND, and because they were so low threat and only had a couple shot off, dropped a bomb (misson 12 on the strikeforce package) as well.

8vp for 48pts.

Why RND? New version retrieve data is an overall bad choice for Marines. Marine haven't receive "nominate one unit, this unit could perform action and shoot for free" tools yet. Adding one squishy 40(or 48?)pts unit could slightly improve it, but won't constitutionally change it.

when you say for free you mean no CP, correct?
