So I always wanted one, and with the price hike it feels like I am being ripped off even more. Don't wanna sell my soul to recasters, so I am just peeking around the corner to see how it's done.

Anyone have any tips, any bit stores, any STL conversion kits... anything to help me out? Or should I eventually wing it and see what happens once I get a vindicator chasis?

I did it, I just built a standard vindicator and replaced the demolisher barrel under the cowl with three lascannons I found in a bits box.

Here it is in a pic with some of my other tanks:

sweet! how difficult is it to do on a prebuilt vindicator?

Not horrendous, as that's what I did on this one. But I did it in a bit of an OTT way. You see, I wanted to future proof things a little, so I purchased a separate demolisher cannon assembly to make the laser destroyer. (i also couldnt get the demolisher barrel out of the cowling!)

I then glued the lascannons into the new cowl, and magnetised the two options by putting magnets into the centre of the cylinder part which acts as the axle inside the hull, and magnets in the rounded bit which attaches to the cylinder. To get the magnets to line up, I pop the cylinder into the hull, fit the cowl in place and shake the tank until the cylinder magnet attaches to the one on the weapon, and it holds until pulled.

Yea that is a little more than what I want lol. I had a vindicator that went from iron knights, to an Ork Looted wagon, and now I am stripping it and turning it into a

Black templar laser destroyer. I got most of the red paint off, but I need to fix the weapon on it. Not going to go that overboard, but I think I got enough Las cannons to make a tripple barrel destroyer

I feel inspired to try this for myself. Lord Sanguinius knows my BA need more anti-tank options.

By eyeball, a few Imperial Guard lascannons look to be the right size, though I think four might look better than three. It's kind of weird that it gets three shots from four barrels. Anyway, I look forward to seeing your efforts, please keep us posted!

Which lascannons did you use, out of interest (e.g. predator/devastator/land raider)?

Conversion looks fantastic :)
