Brothers, lend me your wisdom!

What units have the most and deadliest ranged weapons per point spent? On the face, eradicators I think are one, with three mobile multi melta (eqv) for just 135 points. What else? Typhoons with multi meltas? Something deliciously FW perhaps?

kinda depends on the target.

T3-5 infantry melta aren’t great.

I haven’t mathed it out but I personally think the HIs with hvy bolt rifle and hellstorm bolt rifle are good options.

The thunderstrike stormspeeders aren’t bad with their BS 2+

For outright dakka, just pumping lead down range, I would prescribe the Repulsor.

Against hordes you can lay down a hair-raising 60 shots at varying strength and AP. Properly loaded up, you can expect to see waves of gaunts or Orks to be shredded, even before the passenger's add their own guns to the fusilade. My own took out 23 Necron warriors out in one go, before the Intercessors inside wiffed and killed 1... We could have won...

For more reliable infantry blending, I recommend the Fire Raptor gunship. Loaded with quad-heavy Bolters and you will be unleashing a Marine-shredding tidal wave of 34 shots, all of which are damage 2. The wise brother Jolemai has a Unit of the Week thread on this unit in the Blood Angel's section, for you perusal.

My last thought on this matter is the Quad-heavy bolter Rapier gun carriers. 75pts for 12 heavy bolter shots is actually pretty disgusting, in a weird kind of way. Coupled with their flexible weapons options, I can't envision many lists which wouldn't benefit from these things in some way. Even if you take something other than the Bolters, each than here is pretty solid, if pricey to upgrade to.

Well there's big sure, but I'm looking for the most cost efficient inclusion of heavy weapons. Those rapiers sound exactly like they should be on the list; 4 heavy bolters for less than the dev squad to carry them? Ace choice.

For the criteria are we talking purely points per firepower or other factors such as mobility and survivability?

I do think the Typhoons are actually a top contender. 2 missile Launchers and a Heavy bolter/Multi-melta essentially.

Inceptors with plasma are another one that puts out a lot of firepower for the points.

And then there's the good old Devastator squad with 3 Grav-cannon and a single Multi-melta. That's a spicey meatball.

Personally I like land speeders.  But I'm Ravenwing for life.  I'm currently running a 50 power list with a Talonmaster, 6 Tornados and 3 Typhoons.  It is a unique Space Marine list, because the weapons are all heavy, so I really only have to worry about the Dev Doctrine.  Which is actually easy for Dark Angels because we have a WLT and 2 Stratagems that allow us to manipulate which doctrine is active, so it is easy to have at least 2 of my 4 units in Dev Doctrine.

I say 2 units instead of 3 because the WLT and the 1CP strat both require units w/i 6 inches of my Warlord.  The other strat is 2 CP, and hard to justify when you only start with 6 CP.  Especially given that my turn one strat is always Target Guidance for 2CP because it gives an army wide bonus of +1 to hit vs one priority target.  I just pick the one thing that I really need dead turn 1.  Usually top priority is a flyer or knight.  Most opponents tend to be in bad shape on turn 3.

Survivability for the list is quite high, despite only being T6 and 3+.  A good part is because my Warlord is almost impossible to target outside of assault.  Although the 6 wounds per model really helps out, combined with the 5++ or 4++ if I advance.  I think the best anyone has done so far is knocked me down to 3 speeder.
