Wardens of the Gauntlet

In the recently released background book War Zone Nachmund: Vigilus Alone GW introduced the Wardens of the Gauntlet, a loose grouping of Chapters united in their defence of the only stable warp route across the rift.

 

This sounds a lot like the 20 Chapters of the Astartes Praeses who were tasked with guarding the EoT prior to the creation of the rift.

 

What do praetors think of this new grouping?  Are there many of these Astartes groupings out there, either ad hoc like the Wardens or official ones like the Praeses?  How does it vary from a Crusade, which also gathers disparate Chapters together for a common cause?

Cannot remember the name but there is a group of Chapters guarding the Ghoul Stars, a group in charge of the Badab system, and more.

 

Loose confederations of Chapters and more official groupings seem to be fairly common in the Imperium.

Among the "and more" can we find the Adeptus Vaelarii, where it seems that not just Chapters are part of the confederations

I think as we get further through the imperiums timeline this situation will become more and more common, the imperium has moved from an offence to a defensive footing (like the late Roman Empire) and it’s struggling with that! even the names of the later founding’s like the 25th “bastion founding” was to sure up defences in regions that were either missing Astartes chapter or needed them after they been destroyed

 

It’s only a few chapters left of the original mission of taking the galaxy like the BT

 

I think it’s also pretty cool having a few chapters defend certain regions, leads to a lot of good story telling or background
