I've got 3 flamestorm gauntlet aggressors, and 3 boltstorm gauntlet aggressors .... I haven't used them yet but I'm considering getting another box to produce a 6 man squad ....

Which one do you think works better with our general play style? For my BA my flamestorm aggressors did great with moving them up the board and of course the charge bonus ... but I'm thinking with DA rules the boltstorm shine as well?

Thanks.

Both would have their uses.

Shooty Aggressors get their hit bonus and can castle up with Azrael if that is your thing.

Flamestorm Aggressors can get stuck into melee and make full use of their flamers for potentially 3 turns thanks to the Dark Angels super doctrine.

Shooty might be better just because we already have better and tougher melee units like Bladeguard. We do also have better sources of shooting though, and it could be fun to see your opponent's reaction if you can actually get the flamestorm guys stuck in to combat.

Like Phandaal said, both have their uses. I would look at my army composition in general and see what is missing. If you're missing melee then flamer aggressors, if you're missing shooting or anti hordes then the boltstorm aggressors.

I can only see using Aggressors over some form of terminator, given some price to price comparisons, if you are specifically turtling them up to receive Azrael's invuln support.

Termies are more durable when away from the bubble and nearly as lethal in shooting as either option (4 BoltAggs with 24 bolter shots vs 5 terms with 20 bolter shots). They have a better chance of delivering the melee threat by either weathering the storm of making their way up the board, or native deepstriking.

Aggs, as much as I love them looks wise, seem to only be effective for us when tied to that 4++ bubble, and even then the T5 tends to be well offset by a 2+ save for termies, and their native inner circle.
