jimbo1701
Hi all. Long time alaitoc player here and had my first game with the new book yesterday. Really enjoyed using eldar again for the first time in a while and they feel like they play how eldar should in my mind. One question for rules buffs that I’m struggling to find a consensus on is how the alaitoc rules interact with battle focus. I’ve seen good arguments for and against. Alaitoc fieldcraft rules paraphrased state ‘you can ignore any or all modifiers to the move CHARACTERISTIC / advance rolls of infantry. Battle focus is referred to as a ‘battle focus move’ and also refers to making a normal move. My conclusion is that (despite it making sense in the context of the fluff / other rules) the battle focus move does not benefit from the fieldcraft bonus as it is neither the move characteristic or advance roll that is utilized. Though I have seen some compelling arguments to the contrary. Thoughts? Xenith
Agree. Fieldcraft ignores modifiers to the M characteristic or advance rolls. The Battle Focus move is neither. The compelling suggestions are just that, but not RAW. Tyriks
Yeah, I agree. It only affects the characteristic and nowhere does Battle Focus have anything to do with the characteristic.
