Mistake with Maggs in Gaunts Ghosts: Anarch

Just rereading Anarch(again), and if I noticed this before then I forgot. But it seems that Abnett almost forgot Wes Maggs is a scout.

 

Specifically when they’re in the mechanicum facility and Criids unit need to find a way through some ducts, she has Zhukova(who Mkoll was in the process of elevating to scout training) and Maggs in her section. Then we get this exchange:

 

“You’re our best hope,’ said Criid. ‘And our best chance for finding the way.’

Zhukova nodded grimly. The scouts in both Criid and Obel’s team sections were amongst the dead, their flesh and bone demolished by the wardens’ grav pulses. Ornella Zhukova was the closest thing they had to a fully fledged scout.

‘Finding the way’s not going to be our problem,’ said Maggs.”

It doesn’t ruin anything for me and isn’t ground breaking, but just a bit of a rare glaring one. Somewhat of a fan of good old Wes Maggs myself though, poor dude got forgotten!
