Hannibal
Hi all, at the beginning of March I started to paint some Necrons. My plan is to take part in this years Armies on a Parade as well as to get a fully painted Necrons Force of about 75 to 100 power level. Here are the first 18 powerlevel: Ok, finally managed to post a picture here. More to come in the next few weeks. JaM_TW
Nice! Â And yes, how did you do those bases. I'm sick of seeing snowy bases everywhere :-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/373651-hannibals-2022-project-log-necrons/#findComment-5810084 Share on other sites
Hannibal
Nice! And yes, how did you do those bases. I'm sick of seeing snowy bases everywhere :-) Do you ask how I did the bases? It´s pretty simple: 1-2 layers of Pink Horror directly painted on the black bases 1-2 layers of Emperors Children to lighten the pink a heavy layer of Mordant Earth (crackle – technical color from GW) drybrushed with a light grey Advices: don´t apply Mordant Earth with a brush but with a suitable tool Mordant Earth should be around 2 mm thick to get good crackles you need lots of time for the drying! at least 12 hours in my opinion Mordant Earth on a color that is not really dry will lead to messy results base color (under Mordant Earth) should be really bright – the brighter the better EDIT: reinforcements arrived: 1 Lord and 10 Warriors. I headed towards more contrast in the models, ie I painted the heads and blades rather darkish and tried to get a better contrast within the blues too. IMO they look better now. 30 PL of Necrons done in one month! Right now I´m painting a Hordes tournament list and after that I will come back to the Necrons, but this will be in June. So stay tuned.
