Sigvard
Evening resident Wolf Lovers. I am putting together my Jump Pack Wolf Guard and Thunderwolves over the next few days and I wondered what most of you run in your units? It seems from lists I have seen posted a combination of Claws, Hammers and Shields are the way to go? Also how what do you guys use for your Wolf Guard? I assume Grey Hunters and Assault Marines? I am trying to see how Assault Intercessors and Vanguard Vet parts turn out as I really prefer the Primaris size and aesthetic. Thanks in advance Sig TiguriusX 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/373671-arming-your-wolf-guard-and-thunderwolves/ Share on other sites
TiguriusX
I have seen tons of primaris WG conversions and they look awesome Keep at it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/373671-arming-your-wolf-guard-and-thunderwolves/#findComment-5808485 Share on other sites
Karhedron
The popular loadout for both squads is LC/SS on most members and TH/SS on the pack leader. If you want to tangle with heavier opponents on a regular basis, you can start swapping out claws for hammers on the other squad members but it gets expensive quickly so I would not exceed 50% of the squad with hammers. yan
I agree with Karhedron. if you really wanna save some points i put in one chainsword stormshield guy in each squad since there are usually some dying before you reach the enemy. DanPesci
I realise that jump pack wolf guard are probably the go-to competitive choice due to the extra movement, but is anyone running WGTDA these days? I have a massive soft spot for our termies, and fluff wise always want a few accompanying my lord. Currently converting up a 'primaris sized' TDA squad from my old models, and on paper have 5x Wolf Claw/Combi Melta, with a TH/SS on the leader for a fun aggressive unit. Also how what do you guys use for your Wolf Guard? I assume Grey Hunters and Assault Marines? I am trying to see how Assault Intercessors and Vanguard Vet parts turn out as I really prefer the Primaris size and aesthetic. Ive been rebuilding my old 5th edition army and Primaris-sizing all my grey hunters. The assault intercessor and old grey hunter kits work really well together, so id presume the vanguard vets parts would too! This is my current WiP Jump Pack Battle Leader - It uses Assault Intercessor torso/legs/arms with some prospero parts and an old circa 5th edition jump pack. It needed a touch of trimming to fit the pack but I think the size still works fine at primaris scale. I think you are right that combi-weapons are the way to go for our TDA. Using KEEN SENSES and FURY OF THE FIRST you can fire both barrels of the combi-weapon and still hit on a 2+. Ah nice yeah, id never considered keen senses for combi weapons, useful if the bolter shots are really needed. Fury of the first to have my meltas hitting on 2s is great too.
