If so, which one?

For me, I was sure I wanted to do World Eaters, but with Mark VI, I am now leaning more heavily towards blood angels or dark angels. I think both are well suited for a beaky force, looks wise.

Short answer - yes. It might not be immediately but it will happen. Timing will depend on the value of the launch box and whether it is limited.

Almost certainly going to be Alpha Legion but Blood Angels are my current wild-card.

It completely depends on the price of the box.

If it's in line with the past launch sets, I'll finally pull the trigger on the scars. If it's the naftka price, then I'll stick with my night lords.

Considerig content + inflation, something in line with naftka seems more realistic than old boxes. I mean, look at now few year old titanicus grandmaster edition, which was 2 warlords + 6 knights, and it was pretty penny for that. Sadly, because I am also tempted with new legion, but not sure I will if prices are true, considering I have considerable AL collection.

I was considering selling my Iron Warriors and starting some new loyalists, probably fists. Im feeling less enthused to start a new project now though and the Iron Warrior/Alpha Legion leaks seem interesting. Think its going to come down to how they treat the non marine armies.

I've been planning to use this to finally get going on my UM force, although I am still waffling on allegiance tbh.

But with the rumour of upgrade kits for Legions returning, there is a nonzero percent chance I might end up bleeding it to add models to my other Legions...

I've had this discussion elsewhere; the current trend for launch boxes (indomitus, aos 3rd) are about 70% savings over the separate retail price. You get the same value of models from the rumoured 30k box as you do you from those sets, so the double in price is suspect.

Grandmaster edition sold terribly and is an example of how not to do it; the current Titanicus starter is the realization of that.

I imagine there will be little I’d want to add to my Death Guard beyond Rhinos (if they are released!), so I imagine this’ll give me the impetus to push forward my Sons of Horus that have been ticking along in the background - and then I’m very tempted by an Alpha Legion force…

I am also just very excited by the prospect of additional people and new armies to play!

It's the reason why I got that new titanicus box(not starter though) and never found value in grandmaster edition...

but I do hope that price point is accessible so maybe more people locally take a plunge...

Depends on the cost & the support going forward. There's also the issue of FW products in Australia being ludicrously costed since they switched to regional pricing, which is what made me quit 30k in the first place; I'm reluctant to spend vast amounts of money on aging resin models, many of which are going to look bizarre next to rescaled models. I'd also like to see new rules/models aimed more clearly at mid/late-era heresy to allow differentiating from what we've currently got (which is overwhelming aimed at the beginning of the war).

Will probably buy a launch set or two to keep aside and just play with my existing Sons of Horus to begin with.

I've only painted 14 of my Eateers of Worlds and never played so I should stick with them. However the leaked loyalist Alpha Legion warlord trait that incentivises you to take allies and get them killed looks hilarious so I could be tempted to make up some blueish beakies. Edited by Cactus

I'm probably going to use the beakies in the box set to replace most of my Raven Guard infantry and use some of the mkIII and IV I have as Alpha Legion in stolen armor.

The preator I'll probably use as a Salamander for the Shattered Legions force I'm building.
