What should I hang onto? Downsizing!

Hi Brothers! I haven’t played since shortly after the pandemic, and my models have all been in storage since. My love for 40k is still there but my love for the game has dwindled. I’m currently working on inventorying all my models and sell off most of them, but I wanted to keep at least a max point size army. Looking for recommendations on models that would allow me to have FUN games and not necessarily be competitive. Want to stick to iconic BA models where I can, but I’m not against mostly Primaris. I’d take army list recommendations or just some ideas and I’ll go from there. I’ve missed this community so I want to at least have an army to go play when it fancies me. Thanks!

I own 15k of Blood Angels. I've considered something similar lol. I'd was thinking selling off 8k or so? However the problem is things change from edition to edition, or every couple editions? I guess going forward primaris would be a safer bet than first-born? But we clearly have some first-born units that are worth holding on to, at least for now.

Semirhagge, definitely go for casual and narrative plays to have fun and remember the deep love for the 40k universe we share. Matched Play is currently really hard for marines in general and for BA especially due to Codex Creep. Nothing to change in that raegard anytime soon imo as it makes for fantastic if cruel sales opportunities...

Putting that aside however, Primaris are indeed the future. However for our faction firstborn are still pretty strong - Vanguard Vetrans (especially if magnetized), some Sanguinary Guard (even if their D2 weapons often struggle at the moment) and Death Company, Terminators, Attack Bikes (MM-variant). If I had one, I'd definitely keep at least one Land Raider as it's an icon of the universe next to Termies.

Also, note that Horus Heresy setting is using exclusively first-born, so it might be an option to explore that part of the hobby.
