Wolf guard terminators get a stealth buff

Armor of contempt means a SS is only giving a 4++ benefit now

May as well take advantage of our unique rules and dual wield weapons on every terminator

Combi weapon + melee weapon

Keen senses helps in shooting + melee

Power armor marines with light cover are effectively armor 1.

They get a pseudo invulnerable save now.

We have storm caller to put light cover where we need it.

A horde of blood/skyclaws may actually survive to cause problems

2+ base marine armor is now sturdy as hell too

Need to take the big AP tools in marine v marine fights or it is a slap fight

That is something I didn't think on, it now makes chainswords a swarm weapon.

We need power weapons to deal with astartes

We are space wolves...our job was literally killing other marines

i took great pride whenever i beat down other astartes

Wulfen dreads are looking extra good

Also Wolf Lords gain nothing from stormshields so you can make some extra tasty beatsticks, Wolf Lords on Thunderwolves with Teeth of Terra and a Hammer/fist am looking in your direction

Armour of Russ on power armoured Rune Priests or any Battle Leaders is extra good now. Same with The Armour Indomitus

Personally I feel like the data slate is going to be big shot in the arm for my army.

Ragnar feels strong because he didn't have the storm shield & has an ap-4 weapon. Bladeguard miss out on armor of contempt but I think lightning claws got worse, with some fractions not allowing re-rolls. So a mastercrafted powersword feels strong. I rely on auto-bolt rifles so their ap doesn't really change much.

One change I may consider is changing the impulsors from shield to the missile launcher. Getting a few more shots while still having the same save vs. melta is worth testing. Edit: Slightly worse save against melta but they'd still have one.

I am wondering if things like Land Raider variants might actually be viable for us now. A Rune Priest casting Storm Caller gives this a 1+ save so we get a 3+ save against Lascannons and a 4+ vs melta. Is that enough of a survivability buff to be useful? I have always enjoyed the lead hose effect of the LRC as well as its copious transport capacity.

If you give a runepriest Saga of Majesty you get 9 inch aura on minus one to hit, cover stays 6 inches, also/or pop smoke strat, but for Land Raiders cover and AOC would mean 2+ save v missile launchers, 3+ v lascannons

I don't think Saga of Majesty works on psychic powers sadly. Even so, good call on smoke Launchers, I had forgotten them in relation to vehicles even though I regularly pop them on my Phobos.

Land raider looks tasty. Loaded with some terminators it will be really hard to get them off an objective. Rhino loaded with marines also is durable now.

I played two games against other marines last weekend and had a lot of trouble to chew trough them. Where before i would wipe a squat of marines when i charged my twc in, they now where staying in combat for the rest of the game

Wolf guard terminators with chainfists and combi meltas are on my idea board

Not going back to combi-plasma? I suppose the proliferation of -1 Damage rules has rather taken the shine off plasma as the premiere all-round gun.

Dude i am still sad about finding the perfect combi plasma bits only to see the meta shift hard and make me not want to use them.

from research to shipping it was months long...the psychic awakening combo of never dying from over charged plasma never got used...sigh

I think combi melta may be the better all around gun...the spike damage potential and extra point of strength are a big deal in the nid meta

Id say for the points combi melta every time. 1 less shot but potentially more damage, S and AP, and helps more against anything with -1dmg. An no having to overcharge on a multiwound model.

Im generally DSing my WGTDA and although outside of melta range, theyre still usually within 12", and then need to be dealt with before they get in 6" range.

If i was running 2 squads if probably go 1 CM 1 CP though.

My current list I have 1 squad with:

4x Claw/C.Melta

1X C.Fist/CM

Pack Leader C.Fist/CM

I like having the mix of weight of attacks the claws give with a couple of C.fists for the high AP. C.Fists seem pretty good now for 5 points

This is the terminator army I made to experiment with the dataslate update

Will do the full saga when I play

I can stand in the open with armor save of 0+ if storm caller goes off

Small arms fire should bounce

Big guns don't wound me on 2s or 3s

And I have an obsec bubble available...figure I can grab the primary lead even if I take a ton of casualties

If anything does get close I can maul the crap out of them with wulfen and short range terminators

And the bike chaplain has a S8 D4 crozius if I feel like launching him at a target
