I love their armor and colors, and get they might be the Firewing, but outside of the wiki I can't find much on them? Can anyone suggest some good info sources on them?

Very interested in doing them over standard dark angels as the green intimidates me.

The Successors story regarding Consecrators is light on the kind of background you are looking for, unfortunately.

As for joining the black-armored Unforgiven - DEW IT. Been painting my Dark Angels "Greenwing" in Angels of Vengeance colors for a while now.

The black, red, bone scheme looks so good.

They show up in the third book of Thorpe’s trilogy, but other than the Chapter Master formerly being a Chaplain and loyal to the Supreme Grand Master, not a lot that isn’t in the codex. The Horus Heresy black book, Crusade, introduced Gramarye, a hidden homeworld for the 1st Legion before Caliban was found. It had the manufacturing capability to supply the early Legion. It’s not a stretch to assume the Consecrators were founded primarily by Firewing (their chapter symbol is the Firewing symbol), the enforcers of orthodoxy, and their task was to preserve Gramarye ((where they continue to manufacture Legion-style arms and armor).
