Valkyrion
Silly question sunday! At what point do you halve incoming damage? e.g, a model is hit twice a weapon which causes 3 damage, totalling 6. Do I halve the 6 to three, or do I halve the 3 rounding up twice, totalling 4? Daimyo-Phaeron Lenoch
I think you halve each individual hit. For example, rules that reduce damage, like the Necron Warlord Trait 'Enduring Will', specify "Each time an attack is allocated to this Warlord, subtract 1 from the damage characteristic of that attack (to a minimum of one)." So, for instance, if a squad of Hellblasters fires overcharged plasma at a Catacomb Command Barge with this Warlord trait, and after his invulerable save he takes three wounding hits at Damage 2 each, each wounding hit would have its damage reduced by one, so he would take 3 one-damage hits instead of three two-damage hits. If he was then subsequently hit by a lascannon, which rolled high on its damage roll for 5 wounds, his Warlord Trait would reduce it to four wounds. I would reason that the same logic applies to whatever rule is halving the damage--you'd halve each individual wounding hit, rounding as the rule directs. TrawlingCleaner
Brother Lenoch has it, the idea is that the game is supposed to be rolling each dice one at a time but is "fast rolled" ie you roll multiple dice together. As each wound is a seperate entity, you apply the half damage to each successful wound Karhedron 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/373942-halving-incoming-damage/#findComment-5819256 Share on other sites
