I have been away from the game for a bit.

Given the changes brought about by AoC, is a terminator heavy list viable?

I came into a lot of terminators for cheap and I'm thinking of building around them.

What is the general consensus of their viability in a competitive setting?

Thanks!

Combi weapons and claws seem cheap but potent. A couple of chain fists for AP-4. Lead with a Rune Priest (possibly also in TDA) for casting Stormcaller and Cloaked by the Storm. A couple of squads like that will be harder to shift than curry stains on a white shirt.

Ohhh how this is known from personal experience! :biggrin.:

Kind of a few Termie threads going but the magic combo I believe is a mixture: I'm doing mostly Chainfists, a couple of Combi Melta, and claws for filler. No shields anymore obviously, and no hammers anymore (unfortunately).

Only the strat for 6's= +1 AP in the assault phase could make hammers work now imho, BUT I still think a single squad of hammers, somewhere in your army to use that combo could still be effective. But perhaps Termies aren't that unit? Maybe Hammers are better on TWC, or something else. It's a bit too much work to make more than one squad work imho. plus we know now that CP might get spread out a bit more which may also change the combo. (coming in Nephilm).

Wulfen are the main TH delivery system bc they dont have access to higher AP

They compensate with S10 and swinging on death

A smash lord with a damage 4 TH may be worth it for the raw damage output
