Hey guys the long fangs among you may remember that back around 4th edition there was a big "pre heresy" craze with some amazing converted and kitbashed armies based off the visions of heresy books and the early black library novels. I am making a video on this and I'm trying to collect pictures of minis from that time unfortunately many of them were lost in the great photobucket purge. If it's ok with the mods I'd love for you guys if you have them to share any images you have of your armies back then.

And an Apocalypse game between my Alphas and my Buddies Fists & Army that we took a bunch of photos of:

And finally a 40k tournament i used a bunch of the Alphas for too

Theres probably a bunch more in my more organised FB stuff too but thats from 2014 onwards so firmly in the FW era of Heresy gaming.

Damn, looking that up has reminded me how good massed armour looks, might dig Assassin company up and tart them up a bit...

That's one of two pre-heresy heresy armies I remember from back in my warseer days.

The other one is a Thousand Sons army by a guy called Magos Explorator. Those were rad, but I can't find any images of them...might be because I'm on my phone. They had a lovely shade of red.

Managed to find exactly one result for those Thousand Sons:

Site's a bit dodgy, but it does have the recipe for that very lovely red (although I think about half the paints they used are discontinued...)

Nice idea! I see Noserenda here from the old Great Crusade forums *waves*

I have seen Apologist post here who was also one of the main convertors & creators around that time too.

Another chap who used to post here Whitehorn was again very skilled on the conversion front, although sadly I heard that he had passed away a while ago.

Looking at some of my old blog links it looks like most of them haven't been updated in 9-10 years, sometimes more, which is kind of sad. But I guess that is the way of things, people move on and find other projects.

I've had a dig through my old blog and found some stuff from events around that time - sadly like you say the Great Photobucket Purge has taken a lot of them, although I do have some (annoyingly watermarked) images which were cached on my machine. I've saved these and posted them below.

Here are some links,

Assault on Gedren Battle Reports http://eatersofworlds.blogspot.com/2009/07/battle-reports.html

This was a Great Crusade forum event in the late 00's. It featured a story written by Graham McNeil (Laurie Goulding, who ran the forum, was I think trying to get into BL at the time and asked him to do it). It was only a bit of fun really, but I think had the only 'official' mention of a lost Legion Primarch!

I remember a really cool mega-battle where all of the Legions present were dropping in on the Fief Lords fortress - the game lasted most of the afternoon!

I will have a look about and see if I can find any more pics!
