Personally I was surprised and happy. Lots of cool stuff, like the special and heavy weapons sprue. Excited that the rumors about prices were full of :cuss. The main box being under $300 has me hyped. 20 man marine boxes is also very cool. Personally love the Kratos too.

Overall 10 out of 10 for me.

PLASTIC VOLKITES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly really happy with what they showed, the special and heavy weapons are a great showing and I am really digging the Kratos. I am going to be a very poor man....

I thought they knocked it out of the park. The box set price was welcome news. I had mentioned that I expected them to surprise us on that in the other thread because the peripherals are clearly cut on cost, but was really excited to see that true.

The upgrade kits are great. Really good decision on their part. Reboxing the existing kits was nice, and Geigor Fell-Hand and Ahriman coming back is great.

And the Rhino was my favorite part, as I really don't like building the previous mixed resin/plastic one. This kit will go far, as I'll end up using it for 40k CSM as well.

Top notch:  special weapons & heavy weapons upgrade sets, plastic Spartan

Don't care tier:  Beakies, Contemptor

Dunno tier:  Kratos tank

'Meh' tier:  those abominations that call themselves 30k Praetors ...

But still, that's some good and useable content for me. So, content with that, in terms of the actual model releases.

As for the contents (rules) of them 300+ pages books ... we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah the Praetors are just horrible.

I'm only bummed that those upgrade sets are a bit large dare I say, I'd love to purchase only some let's say 10 volkites or rotors cannons - nah, fam, gotta fork out for all 60 weapons. Still, looks pretty handy. No way I'm doing heavy supports squads with Mk6 , gimme those Mk2s pls. Still neat though

There are some examples painted in other color schemes by non heavy metal painters on Facebook that look better

Bits sites are going to hoover these up like nobodies business. You're safe picking and choosing really

I hope so, I'm not buying the whole box so I'm on the hunt for a single Mk6 squad anyway

Ech, still not shown anything im likely to buy yet. Really bad news that its only marines on release, which likely means months even years before the other armies are back in the game, which is i think, needlessly frustrating.

I do like that the price has come down a bit, i suspect because of the strong negative reaction the first leaks (from a few sources on that specific point) inspired because it makes the game a lot more accessible, the last thing AoD needs is more elitism :D

I am feeling massed Predators/Sicarians again though (Mostly thanks to Sarabando! ) so if they can get those out before i lose interest again i might be persuaded to do another tank company ;)

Thank goodness for that, the scale creep is not quite as bad as I feared. Now we can stop with all the ridiculous attempts to compare miniature sizes using photoshop.....

So much for Heresy being dead....;)

Heresy was never dead, it was just waiting to ambush us.

Its not just the colour I have the issue with, they are just off to me...

But its a small fly in a very nice ointment.

I do not have to use them.

But the winner for me might have to be the Kratos.... That dozer blade looks brutal.

I don't quite think price is down because of feedback, but that this was intended the whole time. I postulated in the price thread they would lowball the price vs blow it out, due to the obvious cost cutting measures on dice, templates, etc.

Its definitely come down, too many sources, including someone i know personally were indicating £240 or at least over £200, they may have reevaluated it based on a whole bunch of things but i am sure that initial reaction was at least a factor.

It was never going to be 240 pounds, that was definitely made up. If it was going to be that expensive, they would have stuck exclusives in it. If it did come down, it was probably not by much.

Could well be a loooong while before we see the 2 praetors in the box separately if previous launches are any indication.

For all we know, the £240 was intentionally leaked a while back to see if people would accept it, they didn't, so GW decided to back down. It's not like they've never actually launched with a price higher than many people thought reasonable - Dark Uprising springs to mind, and Adeptus Titanicus Grand Master.

If it was just one price leak that was wildly out with there compared to others, sure, but multiple sources had it at significantly more than £200. The last thing they want is another AoS Dominion hanging around clogging up inventory space.

We will almost certainly never know for sure, either way.

Looks like $300US for the box, and it has the game rulebook too.  Good deal, I'm in.

Saw this posted on my Slack group:

I don't see a way to give all my Iron Warriors Cataphractiis and Tyrant Siege Termies deepstrike though....probably I missed something?
