Returning to the Long War

Hello all. I'm a former Black Legion player that's looking to make a come back to the hobby. I've been keeping tabs on the lore for a long time but not actually played a game since about 7th edition. These new chaos releases are tempting me back.

 

I'll likely be doing my own custom warband this time but I've already started buying up some marine boxes. I've got the Start Collecting box, Havocs (and 3 extra chaincannons), Raptors, Dark Apostle, Terminators and the Nachmund upgrade sprue.

 

I'm really excited to get back into the hobby. I just wanted to drop in and say Hi really and listen to any recommendations on what to buy next to get ready for the codex.

 

P.s. I'm also thinking about getting some War Dogs or a Rampager too

Good job it's the long war so it's still going on :P Welcome back! Sounds like you've got a good start going, any thoughts as to what type of legion/warband you'd like to play as with a DIY your options are wide :) I'd recommend focusing on what you've got lest the plastic mountain grow too much, especially as you've got a decent set of models for a core :tu:

I've always been a big fan of the undivided legions, in particular the Word Bearers and Iron Warriors. Instead of picking one I was thinking I'd combine them into my own warband called the Awoken. I still haven't settled on a colour scheme other than wanting to do something other than black again. Perhaps brass or a polished silver look as I do like some metallic paint
