(I don't know whether this belongs here as it's asking about fairness, the Space Marine section as it's about marines or the PCA section as it's a modelling question....)

I don't like the inceptor models, so I was thinking of

on regular Intercessors

The gun will obviously look different as I'll just be using regular plasma pistols, but I think it'd be apparent that they weren't intercessors.

Would anyone object? Am I gaining an advantage in any way by changing their silhouette, or their height with the flight stand?

Whether or not anyone will, object really is a question for your regular opponents, Tournaments will almost certainly be a no-go. As for the height difference, maybe you can negate that a little by modelling them standing on barrels, crates, and barricades?

Inceptors are in gravis armour, so should be based off of heavy intersessors instead of intersessors. Be like using tactical marines to proxy as terminators. Otherwise, I think the backpacks are cool.

Quite so, I'd forgotten that.

Does anyone know if the jump pack parts of the Inceptors fit the Heavy intercessors? The intercessors have a nubbin whereas the heavy intercessors don't. I don't know what the inceptors have.

Personally, I find the flight stands really contribute to their clunky look. I pinned mine to their bases via their feet and have them a much closer to the ground 'skimming' feel, which I think works better.

I think it's the legs. Splayed out as they are looks a bit goofy up in the air, but closer to the ground (and tilted a bit) they look a fair bit more in control.
