I read somewhere that the Night Lords were given the new Mark VI armor and that they were mostly spotted wearing the cross of bones. I am trying to figure out where that came from be it a Warhammer community article or was it in Black book 9. That article stated what companies they were given to and would like to create my army  around those companies which wore the cross of bones.

Thank you.

Black Book 9 has some reference to it next to a picture of a Mk6 Legionary, page 131.

"These powerfuld warlords, whose influence had grown within the Legion as the Night Haunter's madness had swelled, gathered themselves the pick of those resources available to the Night Lords. A prime example is the advanced MkVI battleplate worn by Legionary Gnar, of which the Legiones Astartes had received but a few scattered shipments before the Horus Heresy had put an end to the supply lines that had once served them. Of all the Legions, the Night Lords had received relatively few such shipments, and armour of this mark was largely limited to the 9th, 14th, 27th and 43rd chapters - all of which bore the mark of the Cross of Bone."

But this lore could be considered out of date with GW changing things around and MkVI going out to the Legions just before the Heresy kicked off. This means ships and shipments either scattered or in holding above armoury worlds, stuck in the void due to the rise in the tides of the Warp which would be ripe for the picking of the traitor Legions who - thanks to the Warmaster - would have a good idea where these shipments would have come from, where they were headed and thus most likely where they would get stuck.
