Mmmmm Napalm
I like the more matte finish of some of the new plates. Xenith
As for the pics, side by side the White scar just ooozes more character even if the World eater is technically more detailed, the eyes maybe? But then there is something i dislike about the new Mk6 in general that i cant define so its probably that. Helmet angle - the WS is looking down on you and therefore looks kind of angry, while the WE is looking directly forwards and is more unreadable. Both have merit. No Foes Remain
I don’t think the new plates look as good as the old ones either, which is a shame. They’re not bad by any means though. I agree, I think the old ones were digital art whereas these ones I think are the 3d models just coloured in (as suggested by a B&C member when this new style was first shown, citing titanicus' colour splats). I guess it's just that we've had the old style for a while with the IA books and the difference is a bit sudden. Doghouse
Always made me laugh when he got hired considering he was leaning towards 'me no likey GW anymore', fun fact, the term Great Crusade was registered/copyrighted to him before he worked for GW as a big middle finger to them. I miss that guy, his music was pretty good as well. Tbh if it wasnt for his forum and some absolute legends like Doghouse and Apologist influencing people to truescale and sculpt/kitbash Mk7 into earlier marks (not forgetting BoLS and Tempus Fugitives producing rules sets, yes BoLS was actually good at one point) I dont think the heresy would be as popular as it is now. I miss the glory days of old...at times looking back I often genuinely feel like Iacton Qrurse remembering the early days of the Lunar Wolves, hard to believe thirty three odd years or so have passed since the Heresy became a thing. Speaking as an old timer I really like the fact that they took the plunge and went with MK VI. I think Mk II might have made more sense from a historical point of view as we already have Mk III and Mk IV. I do understand the retcon that has crept in but to be totally honest it really does make sense to do this rather than restrict the use of the armour to games set in the final days of the Sol system. Horus Heresy is probably the closest you are going to get to historical gaming with players being extremely specific on what can and can't be taken. It may not seem like a big deal to use something like say Mk VII armour during an early battle of the Heresy but to some it's like using an M60 at the battle of Waterloo. :D I think this goes a long way to expanding our options for models. As a fanatical player of the original Adeptus Titanicus and Space Marine this really does appeal to me, if they are targeting the nostalgic 40+ fan base they hit me squarely in the heart with this release.
