Hi all,

I'll be facing nids on friday at 2k vs a buddy. I've played all of 3 games in 9th so I'm looking for a bit of general advice.

Especially regarding secondaries.

Was thinking of taking stubborn defiance or stranglehold

Oaths of moment or a killy one?

And the last one would depend on what mission secondary is available or what his army comp looks like.

We will likely be playing from the new nachmund book but not certain.

Not sure exactly what I'll be facing but I know for a fact he has Hive tyrants + zoanthropes + hive guard. Possibly lots of little gribblies too.

I'll be running this list

Start with 8CP

Deathwing Vanguard detachment

Interrogator chaplain in terminator armour

RW Chief Apothecary w/Selfless healer

10x DW terminators w/2xTH&SS/2xCML

5x DW Terminators w/CML/TH&SS

5x DW Terminators w/3xTH&SS/2xLC

Ravenwing outrider detachment

Talonmaster w/Arbiter's gaze

Chapter master on bike w/ Mace of redemption

5x Ravenwing black knights

3x Ravenwing bikes w/LC

3x Ravenwing bikes w/LC

3x MM Attack bikes

Chaplain takes the 5+ vs mortals (if psyker heavy list)

Idea is to combat squad the termie brick and use the 2xCML as objective campers for stubborn defiance. Then send the 3 5 man squads out to take objectives (especially the middle if there is one)

Bikes run interference and try to sneak objectives or help stop deepstrikers getting too close.

Attack bikes and black knights kill things that threaten my termies and maybe even use the hunt first turn to nuke something.

What you guys think?

Sadly I've not got much I could change in the list. I've got 3 landspeeder typoons and a terminator librarian but that is about it.

I'll take pictures and write a bat rep up afterwards.

Cheers all, happy gaming.

You can take Watched as a bonus warlord trait. Guaranteed deny for one psychic power. You could grab some Watchers in the Dark for your Deathwing squads as well.

Stubborn Defiance can be a trap against a list like this. Taking the center and punching out his big bugs may be the better play.

if his list has lots of gribblies you may wanna go with attrition, but if he taking leviathan hive rules he gets a transuman type of equivalent all the time while in synapse range may want to go with banners or something that doesn't depend on opponent
