Are the plastic terminators getting re-released?

It's like the title asks: do we know if the plastic Cataphractii and Tartaros terminators will be re-released? I would guess that they're being repackaged similar to the Mark III and Mark IV Tactical Squads, but it seems odd that GW hasn’t said anything about them.  Especially since Cataphractii terminators are in the inaugural battle box.

Repackaged for certain, I doubt they'll increase the model count in the box but I do hope they are adding another weapon sprue with a number of the resin options on there.

I shouldn't have thought so.  It's not like it appears they'll do anything with the MkIII or MkIV - ie. when it comes to compatibility with the new weapon packs.  Fine for the conversion experienced who can just carve away the hands, but no good for new comers to the game.

 

However, I would also like to see upgrade sprues to cover the options now spread amongst the legions, such as spamming them full of Cyclone Missile Launchers, shields, chain axes etc etc.

It'd be nice if the base box was reboxed with an extra sprue for their base loadout, but a weapon option box for the Tartaros/Cataphractii kits would work fine as well.

Did these end up going to plain direct only boxes like I'm sure the Tactical Squads did?

 

We definitely could do with more weapons options though. Currently even through FW there's no way to get Tartaros Thunder Hammers or Combi-Weapons (unless you scavenge I suppose).

I doubt we will see Indomitus pattern in Heresy branded boxes. While I think the background says Indomitus was in use in limited numbers during the heresy, Tartaros and Cataphractii are very much the stars of that show. Personally I'm hoping we get a resized Indomitus kit for 40k instead one day.

People want 40k (Indomitus) terminators.

GW want Primaris to be the focus of 40k releases.

 

Heresy allows a soft 40k firstborn release - it might only need some chest plate/shoulder pad options to create a dual kit. It could even be backwards: heresy kit with resin terminator crux upgrade!

 

This could happen but I really don’t expect it soon - so much else in the queue before it.

I'd be surprised if Saturnine and Indomitus don't get new plastic kits for 30k given the popularity of terminators and thier effectiveness in game. GW loves new shines to sell def they are gonna do new terminators before rescaling Tartaros and Cataphractii same as we will see every other mark in plastic before new mark 3 and 4.
