Units that you would love to use

What are the units that you love the aesthetics and/or lore of, but never use because they simply aren't that effective or efficient on the tabletop?  If you weren't at all worried at all about how well they'd perform, what units would you add to your armies in a heartbeat, just so you could see them on the battlefield?

 

 

For me, it's probably the 3 Primaris Storm Speeders.

Storm fang. I wish it didn't have transport cap to reduce the points by 60-90.

 

Storm wolf. Make side sponsors option to drop cost. Give it assault disembark.

 

Hounds of morkai. Move to troop

I agree with Hounds of Morksi for sure. They need something to make em feel like not Reivers, in fact I wish Reivers in general were better as I think their aesthetic is reilly cool as well.

 

I also miss Vindicators and land raiders which were once at tge core of some of my favorite lists and just aren't the same anymore.

I will third the Hounds of Morkai, as well as second Reivers.

Land Raiders are the most iconic Astartes vehicle for me. They should be a crucial element of a Space Marine armoured assault, each one a near impregnible battering ram delivering the Chapter's most elite warriors directly into the heart of the enemy while obliterating threats at range with overwhelming firepower.

 

Sadlt their performance on the tabletop is lacklustre, to say the least.

Ah the venerable land raider, once considered tge peak vehicle on the table now removed with a stiff breeze. Definitely a worthy addition to the list

I totally agree on the storm wolf and storm fang! Also I wish predators would be a bit more viable.

i have 2 flyers and was having fun running them in 8th when they had a stratagem ti hit on 2s

 

They may as well be legends in current meta with points

 

I remember we all got excited at the melta flyer of doom then GW screwed us with a melta array instead...sigh

Agree. I love them. Although I'm not currently playing...I love the leviathan dreads. And if I do get to play again I will field it no matter what.

I am getting stoked at the prospect of using my “Exemplars of the Chapter” counts as Wulfen units. Still being built and painted but they are starting to look really good. I have already used Wulfen dreads. They haven’t killed much, but they are incredible at taking damage, can’t wait to use them with AoC.

Helfrost upgrades on Primaris tanks like how Templars got Meltas on theirs
