I am initially trying to stick to minis I own however I do have some chapter agnostic marines from my wolves that are unpainted.

Options would include

1 impulsor

5 incursors

3 plasma inceptors

5 more either incursors or infiltrators

A variety of castellans

I can probably put a unit of vanguard veterans together from bits

To many relic terminators to shake a stick at.

I almost exclusively play crusade format with my gaming group as we enjoy the narrative aspect and it lets the games and armies tell their story organically.

Any thoughts or input on where to go from this base are welcome I am trying to leverage assault weapons for most of my shooting to make use of the re-roll advances from the chapter tactic.

I'm not personally a fan of heavy intercessors. Dropping them for an impulsor gives you 1 of 2 tricks.

1. Bladeguard taxi with chaplain

2. Hellblasters with Marshall jump forward and disembark, letting you hit targets at 41" turn 1

I like that list a lot, but then again - I'm not one to consult on matters connected with playing the game. From my limited understanding of how things work, Heavy Intercessors are suboptimal, but they look cool - I'd either stick to them on the 'rule of cool basis' or follow CrystalSeer's advice and opt for a transport option with the caveat that vehicles are also generally suboptimal.

I am not to concerned with being Uber optimized in a narrative game/campaign. It was a close toss between the heavies or a impulsor luckily going with the transport saves me buying the other box for a bit. Would you go with naked or give it a weapon upgrade I was thinking missile array points are less of a concern as we all tend to prefer power level.

I definitely prefer to play a mobility oriented game the Gravis units are sexy but not having a good way to get them around in lower point/power games makes them a bit tougher to use. I found 5 jump pack bodies the other night was thinking of doing some

Vanguard vets and while I know for a while lightning claws were the way to go. In my last game using my wolfguard equipped with them they struggled to kill marines quickly partly due to AoC, and my opponent rolling super hot on saves. Would they be a good potential target unit for the Fist of Balthus relic? And then a hammer or two with shields the rest dual claws?
