Deep Strike with Flyer Assault Vehicle

Hey,

following question. Flyer deep strikes as normal. rules say he could not move after deep strike. what about disembarking the troop inside and further charge if the Flyer has the assault vehicle rule?

RAW i think he does not move in the turn he deep strikes because rules say ( p. 311) so it is under the half movement restriction to let disembark the squad. with assault vehicle the squad could assault that turn.

Assault Vehicle special rule page 231 - Passengers Disembarking from Access Points on a Vehicle with this special rule can Charge on the turn they do so (including when forced to make an Emergency Disembarkation) unless the Vehicle arrived from Reserves that turn.

So there is no way to assault out of a vehicle which has come from Reserve? no pod charge, no storm eagle charge, no Flanking spartan charge?

...and no deep striking Caestus charge (what would have justified the points increase in my opinion), not unless the unit-entry has a specific special rule.

Good thing in this Edition - You can charge after performing a Deep Strike/Flanking Assault anyway, so no need for a vehicle to deliver the Assaulting Unit. Depending on the Legion(s) you play, the RoWs can give you this option.

Space Wolves, for example have a RoW that grants up to 3 units the Outflank special rule, or a IC, that grants up to 3 units Scout (gaining Outflank ). So you could give up to 6 units outflank! And since (non heavy) infantry SW units can move/run/charge, thats quite a threat range! =]

There's drop pod assault, which lets people from an assault claw charge explicitly. It's a Rite of War though.

Yep, that's right, just with this RoW, and only when disembarking from a Kharybdis.
